I don't think the OP (thread starter) made /shot the video.
I was born and bred on the Oregon coast....
When these waves occur...you have very little time to do anything.
I have run across driftwood heading for higher ground, and have heard/seen the destruction behind me.
 

Now that's a close call! Wow! MN at her finest, the lovely beaches can quickly turn into a disaster zone.
 

Yikes! Now that was mind blowing. I thought the kid and dog were toast. Good thing no one got hurt.
 

I near got caught in one when I was surf fishing years ago....... It gets your attention real quick.............................
 

These rogue waves can strike our coast 24/7/365. They typically kill in one of three ways: by drowning, by dashing against the rocks, or by catching folks in heavy driftwood, lifting logs and crushing them. It's a part of life on the Oregon coast.
The boy and the puppy were OK, but imagine if the boy had head headphones on, listening intently for a threshhold change in his PI machine.
