OK, let's run with that notion. And the ten-year term of 1822? Of course, they would have to have known that TJ was in $$$$$$$$ trouble in 1817, 1818, 1819, etc., No records to indicate that TJ was in $$$$$$ trouble through the period.
I invite those local researchers to look at who had acquired and built on land in the area of lynchburg to montvale/liberty during 1817-1820. Then to see if any of it was thru a land grant. Also you will need to know the stipulations of the grants, ie: improving the land within 10 years. Now of those people who connects to the legend? And your getting warmer!!!
