Funny story. I once had a friend who was absolutely phobic about gays. Like people who have serious phobias about spiders and things, that type, not the "I don't like" type. He was really weird, id say a weirdo to be precise!
He loved Queen. He had a build like Freddy too. He grew a moustache exactly like him, had his hair cut like him. Play their albums all the time. He prided himself looking like him and would say "I reckon I look like Freddy Mercury, people say I look just like him, what do you think that I look like him?".
We let it go for a while then I told him. Mate, you know Freddy is gay right!?
I reckon the blood drained out of his face faster than water from a bucket with no bottom. 😂

Spent my youth as a very heterosexual young man, and a rocking musician, on the left coast getting constantly shocked and let down by going to concerts of my favorite bands and seeing how friggin' gay so many of them were! Hey, I'm a live and let live kinda guy, but sheesh, seemed like everybody was a bunch a friggin' faggits for a spell there.
I was much disillusioned with a lot of my musical choices then (although not enough to send me over the edge into country/western :laughing7: ).
Oh well, there's my homophobe rant for the week.

If I'm not sleeping with someone I don't worry much about their leanings. If that insults someone oh well.

Guy had trouble starting singing we are the champions at one of our school assemblies in the seventies (Who invited that group?).
He kinda broke down about his bad start he ceased.
I started applauding in the quiet that followed the stall , and most the gyms attendees joined in.
He perked up and nailed it. Thanked us for the encouragement before or after he got going.

Folks just weren't" flaming" much in public then in the midwest. But who really cared as long as they could sing good and everyone enjoyed it?

I don't recall the groups name anymore to know how they did.
Freddie would have been proud probably.

 

Talked to a guy that does a lot of riding around here, mostly dirt roads and we have hundreds of miles of them. His bikes are KTM Adventure 690's and a BMW enduro type that I don't remember... Highly recommends the KTM's, so now I have another bike to look for! I was leaning towards them anyway.

True story.
Growing up we drank 2% milk because we didn't want any of the "homo"genized crap in the house.
I all our friends didn't drink that homo milk either.

Hey did you hear about the battery scam with them. They had in an upgrade download or something a sneaky thing that made the phone use the battery crazy fast so that people thought their phones were stuffed and buy a new one. The batteries were fine, apple made them drain like a sieve to make people buy new phones.

Speaking of music my second eldest sister was utterly clueless, a certain singer came to Australia and as my dad worked as a supervisor and knew everyone at the Tullamarine Airport she asked him, pleaded to meet the person when he came. My dad arranged it. My sister had a note to give him asking him to marry her. Now we are not talking a teen, this is a 30yr old woman!
She met him, signed a thing for her, ignored her giving him the letter.
Singer was.... ..... . Boy George 😂😂😂
Seriously.....him.....is that the Oxford definition of Clueless or what!? 😂

The popular music scene was hijacked... a long time ago, in fact i would go as far as to say it was actually created to subvert the mindsets of the youth... The points made here (above) reflect the personal experiences of folks who suddenly realise, or knew all along but didn't want to face the reality. The control of the minds of the youth has been and always will be of the highest importance to those who seek to manipulate and shape the future...

I recognise about 80% of those from here back then.
Actually I used to absolutely love listening to "America Top 40!" with Casey Kasem! 👍
