Torpedo in the middle.....the other 2 are the round bottom ballast type bottles.

Lots of good ones at this spot !!

Unfortunately no....technically these are the much more common round bottom ballast bottles....the torpedoes have a some what sharper point. I wish I could get a whole torpedo....only broken ones around here.

Eh, Tomato, tomawto. Good way to distinguish them though. I love that icy blue aqua ale. I get giddy when I see a bunch of old glass in one spot!

20191230_100404.webp20191230_100417.webp20191230_100512.webpall types of good ones here.... wine, medicine, etc.

Those ballast bottles are just too cool! You don't find many around here, that's for sure.

I found some nice Hutch bottles on ebay, from Pottsville and Shenandoah. I might grab one. To be honest though, I really, really, really want to get back to the Ashland dump and dig deeper.

You know what.....I need to start wearing the gopro at several spots !!

I've done that bart. Can't remember to hit my remote button to film the dig. I've got one hunt I did a couple of years back that went Purdy well. I believe if you do film, you have to do it all the time So you can remember to turn the darn camera on.:laughing7:

That is some serious glass bart. :icon_thumright:

No tellin what else is there bart.

This is the other spot.....one week ago this looked like a forest and you could not see this house from the road.

Woops forgot the pic.

Ya back in the day that's how they made em !! You had smudge pots and you closed the shutters at night to keep the wild things out. Wild things means swarms of mosquitoes and sand flies....then there are all the palmetto bugs (huge roaches with wings) and centipedes. This had to be a temporary pineapple farm shack. Not sure but its older than it looks. Most of the stuff cleared out of here dates to the 60s. No one has occupied it since !! I thought it was older at first glance....but I still see the tube and knob electric so it's been there since before electricty. Late 1800s early 1900s with up grades through the 1960s !!

20191230_141150.webp here you can just make out the open shutters and the heavy screen and frame. Mosquitoes would gather on screens so thick that the breeze would be blocked !!

I just secured a deal on a sweet blob top beer from Pottsville PA. Pottsville is a town close to where my grandma lives, and where several of my uncles lived and recruited during the Civil War.

In other news, I gashed my finger for the bazillionth time today while knapping, with nothing to show for it. Back to the drawing board.

I also went detecting for about two hours today, hoping to do something like Bart does, and find treasure. Instead I found 8,000,000 new ways to get stabbed by sticker bushes, and a rusted 1996 Boyd county election pin. Woohoo.

CURSE YOU FLORIDA!!!!
