Sis, I will have to add to your music thread. I too was looking around Youtube and saw how happy the times were back then and listening to the songs brought back more memories.

The similarities END there :laughing7:

Well I guess we are both handsome, fairly smart, good with our hands.

I wouldn't know. Never seen a pic of him. I'll give you the smart thing. Have to call your wife on that last one.

That would be nice. Thank you, Simon. :notworthy:

It appears the kid that came back to Ohio from Spring break in Florida, has passed. The news didn't come out and identify it as such, but he was the only case in that county and now they are reporting a death. This is so sad and it is going to be hard.

My pleasure Sis :notworthy:

I recently came into possession of a partial copy of our band playing around 1970. If I get enough courage, I may post it on your music thread. Took almost 40 years of looking. We had many videos. One was at a TV station, but 30+ years ago it got leveled by a tornado and nothing survived. My guess is that the rest are in storage somewhere or thrown out during spring cleaning and probably never to be seen again ??? I have not yet shown it to my sons. They are over 40 and have seen my guitars and drums, but never a recording much less video of our playing. I hadn't even met my wife yet so she also has not seen it. Maybe some alcohol will loosen my inhibitions and in that case I "may" share it.

Yes it is Sis. Prayers for his family. When we were young we thought we were indestructible. I wonder if he had an underlying health issue ?

Simon, I’d like to see your vintage music video.
I’d love to be able to play music..just isn’t in my DNA. Neither is dancing in public.

Grandpa could play banjo..don’t know what happened to that.

I am trying to build up some courage to do it. Most people do not know how shy I am and that is kind of why I have not posted it. 8-)

What’s the worst that could happen? Someone pokes fun at your long hair and make up? ; )

Music is supposed to be fun right down to the most basic form.

When my dad was a kid..locals played for the grade school dances. Live music played by old folks..kids danced to it.

When my grandma was a kid...everyone played one instrument or another. It was just common.

Sounds like how we started out. Played for local high school dances then once a week our church had a "Youth Night" which was of course chaperoned and kids and teens would come to listen to bands play current hits while eating cookies and donuts and drink soda.

Funny thing..I started listening to music 35 years ago.
Spinning a few old records that my mom listened to as a teenager..
Mom and grandma ran a popular second hand clothing store. Somehow we ended up with an 8-track deck and a bunch of random music..I can remember The Beach Boys, Fogerty, Lynyrd Skynyrd , 38 Special, Elvis..probably a bunch more.

Then I saved up enough money to buy a dual cassette “boom box”.
At that time it was Prince, Def Leppard, KISS, Motley Crew, Poison, Bon Jovi, Hewey Lewis and the News, Duran Duran...

Then later came County Music. Stuck with that till it died.
Now I listen to really odd stuff. I might listen to some old school rap...or maybe some piano Jazz from Emily Bear.

I like most music.
A couple people that post here and on the music thread were also in bands.
Rook and ECS
SD51 has a connection to The Grass Roots

Love to some day listen to an orchestra or big band live.
My dog seems to like this one. Emily Bear at 13 years old.

Not rock and roll, but you have to appreciate the talent of all the musicians playing together.

No sheet music in front of her..she’s a genius at music.

That was very good. I could never do that. They would throw me out ! I don't have the necessary discipline to fit in. I make, ( or made ), mistakes and that is certainly something none of these people do. It is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing it. Emily is truly talented.

Well friends, think I'll call it a night.

Good night and Good morning
