We had another drive by this evening. Exactly one week after the first one. This one was only around 6-7 shots fired and they were a smaller caliber. Police came out and had no witnesses so they left. The shots seemed intended for the same house as last Thursday. Today's shots happened around 5:00 p.m. in broad daylight no less, but with so little traffic I guess nobody saw anything or wants to step forward. Next door to them is a two story apartment so it is hard to imagine nobody not seeing anything, but nobody wants to get involved I guess.

We get that South of here too.
Folks blame the cops if some one gets killed , but won't drop a dime on who's up to no good.
And , get upset if the cops stop anyone or arrest somebody.

Missed where (what state/city) , but the police were reported as saying they would not be responding to break ins. To much other stuff goin on.
No break ins goin on here. Yet anyways. Odds are Ruger or Charter arms will respond before the authorities do though. A distance thing.
Nearest community some miles away did not see fit to keep cops on the payroll.
Bet they'll squawk at the county though if things go wrong. And act surprised response takes more time that having L.E.O.'s based locally....

Is this a bunch of Canadians?

Some parts of America there is a code of silence as in don't talk to the cops. Good policy in my opinion. But, some cultures take it too far and decide to settle their own disputes without the use of our legal system. Could be that the house getting shot at has it coming. Not a sound method of conflict resolution IMO.

Yes RC, kind of the same here now. The police in our city have now been given the authority to decide how to handle each trip they are on. Not enough officers to go around right now.

At 11:00 p.m. tonight we had yet another drive by shooting. It was 4 blocks from the earlier drive by today and on the same street. 3 people being sent to the hospital, one was an innocent victim in their house. On the scanner they are saying this is 100% gang related. Seems the gangs are taking advantage of current condition of smaller police presence. I live in a nice neighborhood, but apparently these gangs are now coming out of the woodwork.
