You can also buy beef & chicken from organic farms that do not add anything or shoot them up with hormones & antibiotics. Expensive I'm sure but worth it. Same with eggs & veggies. If you're around any Amish they sell natural foods too.

I get it when folks have to buy everything.

It sucks, and we did it for 25 yrs living in Toronto.
But that didn't stop us from spending money on good food.

Expensive YES.

But we don't smoke, go out to eat, no bad habits.
(EXCEPT DETECTING)
So food is very cheap basically.

We get organic chicken @ $6.50 a pound.
Quart of yogurt is $11.00
The yellow milk fat on the top is like cream cheese.

We grow most everything, buy bulk, 5 freezers, 2 side by side fridges. Then the pet fridge and freezer.
Plus the cold room.

Without good food, the health may be in question.

Its not an option. We live in a rental with a small backyard that wouldn't be big enough to supply us. Can't have animals either. The climate is too severe anyway. Prolonged hot summers in the 30s c to mid high 40s. Water costs a fortune. Several yrs ago in a yard in another house we were in I just watered a small mullbery tree during summer. That was it. It added hundreds to the quarterly water bill. Imagine a yard with enough veg to be self sufficient.
It sounds easy when you have the available land and water isn't an issue but we don't all have that luxury.
Id have to if I could, shade cloth the entire yard for things to survive. You can't even grow chilis here in the sun. I have two in pots that are mostly shaded, morning sun only on them. Last place we lived we had some room I grew two tomato plants under the shade of a large peppercorn tree, they were ok. I tried one in the sun/shade, 50/50, you couldn't keep up with trying to keep it alive so I let it die. Tried asian snake beans that are supposed to love summer and heat! 😂 Yeah right, not ours here in country Vic that's for sure. Let them die too after even draping shade cloth over the trellis. Wasn't for lack of techniques or trying it was just the severity of the climate and pests. I used an iso alcohol mixed with distilled water at 65 iso 35 distilled. Wipes out bugs pronto. Aphid killer plus. As the iso dries out it sucks the moisture out of the aphids body. Great non toxic spray. Leaves commercial chemical ones for dead on them. 100% kill rate. I used to find that even with the best commercial sprays there was always some survivors that bred back up in no time.
Long story short growing our own here there isn't the space and the cost and climate is too limiting.
Now, what's on special this week at the supermarket? 😁

We literally cannot afford to live the way people suggest buying organic things.
I reckon if I did we could afford probably 5 days worth of food.
People could say "well what about the gold"? My best days are over.
I have the worst level arthritis in my lower back they can grade it at, and a tumour in my neck which although benign impacts on what I can carry and gives me grief daily which is why I got rid of my 5000 set up. Id have never parted with it otherwise. They were about to operate on my neck but pulled out in the last minute whilst I was on the operation table just about to be put under. The surgeon second thought it and advised I put up with it as long as I can because where it is its surrounded by nerves and arteries and he said he couldn't guarantee the outcome with the full use of my arm. So I chose no op and live with it.
It was a big hit parting with the 5 I can tell you.
Such is life. 😁

That sounds terrible. Sorry you're going through such a thing and I hope you can somehow get some relief without the surgery.

Thank you for that, I really appreciate it. I have learnt to live with it, was life changing. Always before diagnosed and it grew, one each side but the right is not an issue, thought "why am I waking up with a numb hand, why do I feel a bit dizzy now n then after waking?"
I think iv conditioned myself to subconsciously asleep turn over from that side. Im a Southpaw and have always liked sleeping that side.
