No RR,..... think that black material,... in an old radio they wrap copper wire
around it,..... for the AM antenna.
Or, older school magnets are made from that material,........

ferrite is a ceramic material made by mixing and firing large proportions of iron(III) oxide (Fe2O3, rust) blended with small proportions of one or more additional metallic elements, such as barium, manganese, nickel, and zinc.[1] They are electrically non-conductive, meaning that they are insulators, and ferrimagnetic, meaning they can easily be magnetized or attracted to a magnet. Ferrites can be divided into two families based on their resistance to being demagnetized (magnetic coercivity).
It's an effective old school way to deal with an iron rich location,.......
Ground balancing on a piece of ferrite helps you "level the playing field".
Reason being of course is you have given your machine a heads up
as to what kind of conditions your dealing with.
Some machines come with a piece of ferrite for just that purpose.
