Were I sitting a couple feet away ...don't hand me a heavy shovel. I might take to using it as a swatter.

Had a wolf spider in the tarp shed last year....Three inch span might not be an exaggeration.
You ever hear (or feel) a "Pommph Poomph" sound it's probably me whomping a spider in the sand with a heavy shovel. After the spray and before the fire. ( Yes , both were involved.)

I usually don't kill spiders. Down here in Florida spiders, dragon flies, & lizards are the best Frontline pest control.

Depends on the spider. Outside, I leave them be unless they're poisonous and in an area where I or my dogs go. Inside, I most often will catch them and put them outside. If they don't want to be caught, or if they're poisonous, they generally meet with rapid terminal compression.

We were traveling in Australia and the Mrs said "Oh Jim there's a BIG SPIDER 🕷 😳 in the car"
This wasn't a exaggerated statement.
The frigging thing was the size of her hand!
Get out Jim!
I'm thinking 🤔
Yes I'll torch the car, hitch a ride to Darwin
Catch an ✈️ to another country.
No lie l was having some serious doubts of my manhood.
Ok I was 😓 😰 🥵 bloody soaked.
So I rolled up some newspaper into a long tube, swat, sucker hung on, swat, swat, it's now between the door an the door jam.
4 legs on each, not going anywhere soon.
Ok you 😈 🕷 SLAM goes the door, ashtray out of arm rest flies out drivers side.
Spider squished.
I'm now a man's man.
Off we go to another campsite to ask what this creature was.
Found out it was just a huge Huntsman spider hitching a ride.

Walking back the Mrs stated what happens if it gone?
NO WAY!
THE MAN WASN'T IN THE MOOD TO TALK ABOUT THIS FOOLISHNESS.
Got to the car, 🕷 had ripped 2 legs off, staring right at me in a real pissy looking mood.
OK pirate's I'll come clean.
No I didn't burn the car then, not that it was option- well the only option.
The Mrs knocked the spider out, and it met its end.
Ok now I need a shower even after 32 yrs, it's not one of my proudest moments. 🤣

I found one in my closet a couple of years back and I still open my closet door with trepidation!
