When you find something that you think " ain't no way I'm touching these " and basically box them up as they are

Has anyone ever attempted to clean something like these?

I think they may be lead buttons

Oh heck no!
I ain't gonna clean it up so it can get trashed!
And the towels are for paying guests!
Cash ; or get busy doing laundry , dishes , cleaning or yardwork!

(Guess it'll just be the dogs here tonight then? l.o.l..)
I know. It’s a little silly to wash bedding for people who may or may not get too drunk and crash and then who only knows which bodily fluids may or may not end up on said bedding.
True story: one year we had a guy throw up and pass out. He’s a big guy too. His wife was going to leave him out in the cold but we all made and helped her carry him in. She stripped him down and brought his clothes up to the washer and we washed them. After a few hours of sleep, I got up and started drying them. The house began to wake up and we were all jibber jabbing over coffee. All of a sudden the guy comes walking up the stairs asking, “Where’s my clothes?” He was wrapped in the bed comforter . lol. Good times!

Worked on my display cases yesterday a little meh but it's a start

Not sure what the buttons are made from that you have.
I would just not worry too much about handling them, just wash the paws after playing around with them.
Now for cleaning them I wouldn't recommend that mouth/tongue method.:tongue3:

Any ways here's a little history on the one button, and what they looked like in good shape.
The link has a good selection of other buttons + other links to other button sites.
Even though it from Australia the buttons were British made.
