Im not as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I ever was. I eat lots of carrots.

Just fired up a batch of vegetable stock. Planning on simmering for about 3 hours to get all the flavour out.

Started off with the usual carrots, celery and onion. for added flavour and color left the onion skins also a big fat crushed clove of garlic a handful of dried wild mushrooms. peppercorns, some bay leaf, parsley and thyme.

Coleman lantern and a compass. If you don't have a reflector on the lantern , a piece of aluminum foil one one side will keep the light out of your eyes.
(Coyotes keep me from wanting to leave deer down overnight.)
