Rest in peace ol Girl. I snuck through it one night with some buddies. I miss seeing her elegance when I would drive by. I hate seeing these old houses destroyed. The house had dual staircases that went up to the 2nd floor living room. The windows came down to almost floor level. In the attic, you could pull down a drop ladder that allowed you to walk out on the roof. It really was a beautiful house. There was a massive rock out Front that said “Prebe” the family it belonged to all those years ago.
Just thought I’d share some local history with y’all.

Old Brick House, Ladoga,Indiana

Once, the largest home in the area, now just an abandoned hulk. This old brick farmhouse sits deteriorating in a soybean field near rural Ladoga, Indiana. A year ago I thought it might have been inhabited, now every window is broken, sad to see this once nice home being destroyed by man and nature.
Update: I went back to shoot this again recently and there was only a pile of bricks.........end of a sad story.
Unfortunately, that is happening all over the country.

That’s the same company that made the uranium glass childrens dishes that I recovered from dad’s basement. I obviously didn’t delve deeper into the history of Akro Agate. And, yes, that is quite the marble rabbit hole! 🐇

Why am I doing taxes at 3:30 AM ??
Because I can't metal detect the beach until it gets light.
Don in SoCal.

I rescued an old dive light from my scuba gear and fitted it to the Safari (as if it wasn't heavy enough). I used adhesive-backed hook and loop fastener.

We had lobster the first night. I was brave and tried it. Not a fan. The Mr WD, who doesn’t particularly care for it, said it was the best lobster he ever had. Well, I tried.
