Well I’m beside myself. I was happy to see that the Pepperj posted last night. I have been patiently awaiting his salutations to the world. So I go back and look and I see it. He was saying goodbye wasn’t he? Well forgive my happy song video because I am definitely not happy that he is leaving. 😢 I sincerely apologize to everyone for making it worse!
Stop blaming yourself, you didn’t do anything wrong

Random question:

Do any of you eat canned/jarred/bottled foods after the expiration date?

I have gotten pretty OCD about throwing away such foods, even if they were never opened.
At my in-laws, I had the option of ranch dressing that expired in 2021 and was already opened, or a bottle of French dressing that had expired in 2020 and never been opened. I opted for the French. Boy was I

Best by date hints of freshness and palatability , taste, flavor ect..
Expiration date means you're gambling with bacterial trouble beyond.
Air exposure through partially used/previously opened containers speeds up expiration dates.
At least for picky folks.

At Dad's one time he just trimmed the mold off a loaf of bread to cut us a couple slices.
A depression era exposure in his youth meant, eat it.
A good place there back then to sneak peeks at dates on stuff!

I have done that before, the cutting the mold off. It still has a funny taste. I can remember when a kid, we ate it, whatever it was. Even mayo with yellow crusty edges. There were no dates. Mom would clean the fridge once or twice a year, only because of the ice buildup. Defrosting the fridge. Don’t miss that!
