I have a great friend in Texas who is a native American hunter. He has recently gotten into metaldetecting and does pretty good. Well he sent me pictures of a turtle stone that he found on the bank of the Brazos river......dumb ass removed it from its location and brought it home. I lambasted him for removing it, and he says he has GPS numbers, and that he knows the orientation from memory. Apparently he also has a photographic memory like me. This is by far the most realistic turtle marker I've ever seen.....there is no doubt it is a turtle rock marker. There is definitely a treasure legend related to this stone.....I just can't remember which one. I'm still in shock.....I never thought I would know someone who actually found a Spanish turtle rock marker......I think one is supposed to look for the next marker by walking a certain distance that the turtle is facing.......the good thing working to his advantage is that the landscape is unchanged for hundreds of years !!

Well its nice and warm here !! Upper 70s
Morning Bart:hello:
It's on days like this you can thank the forefather's for settling in the warm.:headbang:

Little Pepper asked his father once: Why did our Great, Great Grandfather settle in the northern regions of Ontario?:dontknow:
Answer: It reminded him of Lapland
Little Pepper thought-He could at least homestead in the south where it was warm. :laughing7:

Mornin all.

8 degrees F. and the wind is up. Trees groaning in protest.
Shoveled last night around midnight and once this morning.
Up to 18 inches predicted. Predicted , l.o.l... The lake effect snow machine is cranked up.
Wind will pile it up where it will.

Been told a card needs to go to the mailbox.
Cold weather hunting cloths and a pair of goggles should help the golfcart ride to the main road.
Leaky rear tire might need pumped up again. Always fun.

Morning RC
Sounds like you're getting hit pretty hard.
It snowed last night but it's all gone-though looking out in wet it's looking pretty icy now in the driveway.
Waiting for the flash freeze later today
Even though it plus temps and lots of rain it isn't melting the snow it's just turning it to a rink.
Leaky tires are the normal on the tractors, snow blower, some wheel barrows, I'm slowly changing to solid ones. :laughing7:

It's Eastbound.
Onterio should get spanked in areas East of Detroit. Or N.E. anyway.. (!)
We're probably -15 or colder windchill.
My golfcart ride to the main road confirmed similar. l.o.l..
Cart about crawled it's way back from cold tired batteries. And I'd just charged it two days ago.

The winds have picked up here now-the plunge has begun.
Back bladed the yard, lane to get rid of the slush-well there's a gravel mix in the remaining slush.

Keep the draft off them chickens.

Heck of a time with the dogs this morning.
Heart conditions , lack of fur ect. among them.
Plus the cold unconditioned feet.
They're all playing possum now. Like , no I don't need to go out!
Opened the door for one a few minutes ago and he spun a u-turn.

Stuff to do. I might try joining them for a nap though.
