I have a great friend in Texas who is a native American hunter. He has recently gotten into metaldetecting and does pretty good. Well he sent me pictures of a turtle stone that he found on the bank of the Brazos river......dumb ass removed it from its location and brought it home. I lambasted him for removing it, and he says he has GPS numbers, and that he knows the orientation from memory. Apparently he also has a photographic memory like me. This is by far the most realistic turtle marker I've ever seen.....there is no doubt it is a turtle rock marker. There is definitely a treasure legend related to this stone.....I just can't remember which one. I'm still in shock.....I never thought I would know someone who actually found a Spanish turtle rock marker......I think one is supposed to look for the next marker by walking a certain distance that the turtle is facing.......the good thing working to his advantage is that the landscape is unchanged for hundreds of years !!
