The standard mark indicates the fineness of the alloy used. There are five standard marks on silver from the UK:

Is this spoon in another post/thread? Such as Today's Finds? So I can get more info.
Are you taking pics with a phone or a real camera? The pics aren't very defined on my end. Maybe post a pick where it is in focus, no matter how small. Can you tell us what your eyes see? I couldn't make anything out, until Pepper flipped it. Then I seen the Lion passant, somewhat. Then it looks like maybe a number 5 next. Maybe?
