Agree, but until you have had fresh Cod and Chips from North Sea you ain't lived. My wife wants to go back to England just for that. The Magpie at Whitby. Hard to beat. But a small mum and pop place down the street by Bay even better.
Never had cod, but fresh flounder, redfish, speckled trout, red snapper, grouper, triggerfish, mahi-mahi, amberjack, cobia ( ling, lemon fish) stack up pretty good agin any I’ve herd of. Plus we got Golden Flake chips down here like the Bear used to recommend!
I have had all those and catfish in every Southern state. Plus fish in Nicarauga, Costa Rica, Brasil, and Iceland. Still top my list with fish and chips from North Sea. But to each his or her own.
