Great morning all my TNet friends. Hope you're all doing well today and had a good weekend. I've been super busy nonstop moving stuff into storage and cleaning out this house. Though got good news yesterday. My step father got a text from the owner of the house we've been wanting to buy but due to my grandmas house not being sold yet as escrow takes forever we don't have the funds yet, however he said it's ours and he will not sell it to anyone else no matter what they offer as he appreciated our respect and interest in the history of the home. So he took it off the market and said he will wait for us to have the funding to buy it. So I guess sometimes things do work out.
Great news! And a great gesture by the seller.
Now , how are the folks going to get you to come inside the house after dark when you're still trying to detect it all outside?:laughing7:

I'd keep those good folks on the Christmas card list a while.

It reads like one heck of a neat place a history buff would be delighted with.
Not my place or my business to worry about , but besides water quality (if I can't drink out of a wells tap or do laundry without a water softener I'm not too interested in living at such a place) my first question would be if the prior fuel tanks below ground had all been removed.
I imagine so. But don't know obviously.

I have no idea. I know it has two water wells and one is commercial. Has the old laundrymat infrastructure still too. The original mechanic shed is still there with the pit you can drive over to have access to the bottom of a car. The creak on the property is nice and bares gold, there are tons of relics on the property. So lots of neat things around

Laundry mat a isn't deal breaker.
Dry cleaning is not the best thing.
Seen a few places that the land is worthless after having one of those.
It's easier to know pre-purchase than finding out post purchase about an issue.
Sounds like a really cool place, to have.

How much land is there?

I don't know the exact area of the land but it's a nice piece of land. The history of the town is just cool in itself. Also the house is fully furnished and updated. It has solar, security cameras, a generator so if power is lost the house can run on that. Just lots of neat stuff. It just works out my step father's friend is good friends with the owner so that helped. The owners are a really nice couple that just want to go RVing and travel the world. They basically became friends with us sharing a lot of values and appreciation of history. I went on and on talking about metal detecting, history, and about different relics and how history means a lot to me with the owner was a cool conversation as usually I struggle to have conversation. I actually enjoy talking to that couple when we go over and visit

Here's something neat. At my father's house he has fruitless mulberry tree's, I was pruning one and this strangeness caught my eye. This mutation or whatever it is grew. I immediately pulled it off and kept it. Looks so neat and I know sometimes oddities like this can be valuable but this probably is just a case of looking neat.

Just taking a water break.
This little Hoverfly paid a visit.
Not sure was what it was doing. Hitting its butt against the skin.
Took the photo with the magnifier.
Harmless little fellow that's a great pollinator, deadly to aphids.
So it's a keeper in the berry patch.

Thanks for sharing this intimate moment between you and Ms. Hoverfly. A little glass of wine for you and a thimble of nectar for your lady Hoverfly next time might add to the mood.

I was weeding yesterday and came close in grabbing a handful of this Tussock caterpillar.
Nasty things, feels like getting slapped with a handful of stinging nettles with a side order of yellow jacket.
(Note to reader-I squashed the sucker)
