This was my very first experience with a metal detector. For all its faults, I was able to locate my wedding ring which I had lost the year before while washing my car in my parents yard in the early 70's.
Not to mislead anyone, but these pictures are not of mine, just provided to show what I was using. I still do have mine somewhere out in the garage. Last time I fired it up was a few years ago and it still worked, the larger coil did have a large Crack in it though :icon_scratch:

I was leaving the beach park yesterday and a lady and her husband were just getting
There to do some detecting and she had a machine very similar to yours. I ask her did it still work
and she said it did but she believed the batteries were dead. Duh. Anyway it was that
Exact color. It did have the solid coil if you know what I mean.
She did say that it only had one tone. In that park she was going to do
a lot of digging.:laughing7:

rook,

Well at least you made it out it's all about the thrill of the chase.

I did that bill. We had one heck of a time down here. Met a lot of nice folks
From the northern part of the country that stay 4 months or so. Not being a beach hunter,
I found more than I though I would. Ate way too much sea food. Every time I saw it
I ate it. Going home today in about 3 hours.

Ahhh another Birthday... I love birthdays... now... wheres the Rum.

Morning mates.

***ARC scrounges around in his pocket and produces a mini bottle of Rum... then buys a cola from vending machine...

***ARC then announces... "Here here... a Rum and cola for ECS's birthday"...

***ARC proceeds to hand the cola to ECS and then ARC drinks the Rum.

*** ARC is heard mumbling after drinking Rum "now that is just enough Rum to make someone mad".

That tone could give you an easy migraine.
Mine uses only 1 - 9 volt battery
As I said, it was my first introduction into the metal doctor field, nobody will claim it was perfect :laughing7:
But it did help get me hooked.

Yep it’s very addictive. I’m hoping my knees will hold up a couple more years.
My bride tells me all the time. You better give it up. You know those places you
ride by and your wife or someone says, look at that old place, isn’t that beautiful?
and I say yeah I wonder if they would let me detect their yard. My bride hates that.:laughing7:

Time for knee replacement :tongue3:
Then you will be like the Energizer bunny wabbit. :laughing7:
