Simon, your spy drone is noisy! You woke me up. Good morning.

Good morning Sis :hello:
yes it is noisy. Peyton Manning loaned it to me and he had stuck small pieces of playing cards against each of the four propellers so it would be loud. :laughing7:
Doesn't look like the couch disagreed with you, you look happy :dontknow:

Some other stuff from the other day. Got a ww2 button, some live ammo 25 auto, and 30 cal. An older suspender clip, and a hot water faucet. Most importantly the galleon spike and olive jar shard. I'll have to kyak to the new cobb spot, but I was happy to see evidence of spanish activity as I got closer to where several clumps of cobbs were found. I lost a fantastic old ships plank with square spike holes throughout it. I placed it where I could recover it on the way out.......and of course could not find it again. I've got a feeling that this will be a productive spot for some much older coins.....possibly 1600s or even late 1500s !! Its an exciting new spot with an oral tradition of cobb and gold treasure finds !! As far as i can tell it's been many years since anyone has hunted it !!

Nice finds Bart, I can see why you would want to go back again and again.

Bart
Whats that big piece in your 3rd pix(post 3285). above ? I've found some similar at OBX

All the pennies I found were copper.....no zinc. Leads me to believe that no one has been on this key since before the 80s !! Most finds were made in the late 60s-early 70s. Plenty wheats and silvers here.

That's a spanish olive jar shard.....very important clue when hunting spanish stuff. Cant detect them but I start hunting hard when I see them on the beach. I used to throw them back.....now days they hold value and sell for decent money. An authentic atocha shard can sell between 20 and 70 dollars now days !!

Good morning.

Geez, where'd the day go? I never meant to sleep in 'til 8:00, but here I am.

I think that the clumps of cobbs found here may have been stored in these olive jars. The coins are put in olive jars for safe keeping......the salt water leaks in and the cobbs fuse together. Later the jar breaks and releases the cobb clumps all fused together.

Crap! A bird just flew into the window and scared the beejeebies out of me! Rook was that you? Did you break your beak?

Just my feelings.yep.:laughing7:

Good morning, Rusty. Congrats on the deer! We spooked up a 6 pointer yesterday while we were planting trees. All 3 of us were spooked: the deer, me and Mr WD. He was about 100 feet away.
