Any of you guys ever done any diving up here in the Great Lakes? There are a few shipwrecks from the 1700s but and a lot from the 1800s but I've heard that they don't usually hold up too well.

I stick to the tropics...but last year I got waist deep in lake Michigan hunting shallow water....my love life will never be the same !! The family jewels will never be the same !! Lol !! I would stay in till my feet hurt, then go do dry sand for awhile !!

There are over 6,000 shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, having caused an estimate loss of 30,000 mariners' lives. It is estimated that there are about 550 wrecks in Lake Superior, most of which are undiscovered.

Bart I had to watch Rick and the annual polar bear swim. The 5:35 mark near the end says what are waters are like right now. :laughing7:

I just finished watching Alex Trebeks' final episode. I was very sad when he died, but it finally hit me tonight and I cried for the first time in a very long time. I grew up watching Jeopardy! every night for as long as I can remember.

Hahaha. Trust me Lake Erie is warmer, in the summer it even changes colors because it's the perfect temperature for algae to grow!

I think there are about two thousand in Lake Erie. I almost went and got my scuba cert a few years ago but haven't done anything since. I'd have to buy gear, take training somewhere, and find someone to go with. Oh, and of course if I wanted to find wrecks I might want to have a boat. Just too expensive lol. Hopefully someday though.

Aww c'mon.

Been in Michigan and Huron in the spring.
And used to put my fins on and be the first one in after ice out when I lived on the shore of a lake.
The top couple inches of water on the surface are usually the warmest.
Yes , I swam fast to stay on top!

Today I'd probably go into shock if I stuck my toe in....

Someday..........*never* ......gets here.
There's a lot of truth to be said about that WIF.
Then again I was always a 5yr plan type of person.
I want that, or to be there in life, or have it mine, payed off.
I didn't fret about it, never lost a wink over it, and many times I accomplished it in or under the the 5.
If there's no plan one will go into the someday mode-and that might turn into a never.

I go with another thought:

Man plans...........and God laughs!

That green funk that grows on Wisconsin water will leave a mark, you can see your wake in Green Bay for along time. Did those ships haul precious cargo? I wouldn’t think a trash barge out of Cleveland would be full of pull tabs. Maybe find jimmy hoffas watch?

Morning TreasureNet Crew.

A belated Happy Birthday to you Bill! :occasion15:
I understand you spent your birthday yesterday at home with your wife.
Sometimes spending a quiet birthday with those you love most is the best present you can get... especially during a pandemic.

I also read yesterday that Quebec is implementing a curfew starting tonight...

“Saturday will mark the first day of Quebec’s new curfew policy, unveiled by the province on Wednesday in an effort to contain the explosive spread of COVID-19. Since that announcement, more than 5,000 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Quebec. "We're talking here about saving lives and we're talking about saving our health-care system," said Premier Francois Legault during a Wednesday press conference.
As of Friday afternoon, approximately 300 people RSVP’d to the event spanning several regions. At least 15 other cities are expected to see demonstrations on Saturday, including Quebec City, Sherbrooke, and Trois-Rivières. At least one of the groups responsible for organizing the events was also involved in other anti-lockdown demonstrations in the province. While demonstrations are still allowed by the province, they must take place before 8 p.m., and attendants must wear masks. Anyone caught outside after 8 p.m. without a valid reason for being there, such as a personal emergency or a note from work, can be fined between $1000 and $6000. Though the curfew applies across the province, just how it is enforced is expected to vary by region.”

Hope you had a great birthday yesterday Bill.
Dave
