Jim, glad to hear the chicks have made it through the night, hopefully they're settling in nicely.

The other 6 were 3 weeks old already when we got them so this round we have to do a lot more checks to make sure everything is going well.

You actually received 3.5" of rain in your area from Beta!? :o
My gosh, that would make for some serious flooding in our area.

No flash flood warning was issued though.im guessing we received it so slowly it had time to drain off quicker.

Antiquarian, I hope you get a banner find, and have a successful interview!

(Psst. Bill/ Pepperj, what would be a banner find from Canada? Asking for a friend)

Sent out a few invites to a few regulars to join the RCT.

It really all has to depend on the saturation rate of any given area. A slow steady rain over a long period most areas can handle many inches. Then again the "rain bombs" that occur are a problem in many areas as the rain runs off quickly.

Many scratch the noddle and wonder why this happens in today's world.
My thoughts on this is that we have now untold amounts of tillable lands that are tiled.
Farmer wants the best production for the fields-so they tile it.
The water doesn't really absorb into the substrate, it just goes into the tile.
That tile drains into the ditch-then into the creek-stream-river which usually has a urban setting that is hardscape and the result is mass amounts of water-no fast place to go.

Morning ARC, Bill, WD
