The Noise... THE NOISE!!

Yea I always stick it high in the sky when I turn it on. I just don't know what it was sunday that made it so annoying to use. I took it out yesterday and tried it in all the frequencies and everything ran fine. On sunday I had to turn the sensitivity down to below 80 before it would be quiet unless I ran it in 18. My fiend was using a cz-20 but he was a football field away at times and I was still unstable.

So while I took the machine out yesterday to see if it would run right in the lower freqs I decided to go over area we already hit and see if anything would pop out that the 18kh didn't signal well. Right next to a hole already dug I got a good signal in 8kh. repeatable both ways, nothing around it. Nice high tone. Took out a plug and cut out a big root and under it was the best find I have ever had!! My heart stopped. I never thought I would find one but there it was. Just unbelievable the way things happen some times. I'm still floored and and happy as can be. It's thin and worn but I don't care. Wonder why it was in the middle of a civil war camp site?

Thanks for the encouragement to get out and test the machine a bit!

WOW! awesome find.
Glad the Deus is working now.

Thank you!! When I first got it in my hand I thought it was a flat piece of lead cuz i've been finding them there and was kind of upset lol. But as I was cleaning the dirt off I started to see markings and started to get too rough with it. I spit on it and rubbed it (of course it scratched it some:BangHead:) and started to see what it really was. I knew what it was but wasn't 100% but only because I was in disbelief. I've heard of people finding them on the beach north of me a little ways. And a friend of mine has found cut pieces in fields. But it was the Last thing I was expecting to pull out of that hole. I was just hoping for a bullet or a button lol. Sunday was a big day for me, piece of buckshot, a .69 three ringer dropped, a .54 dropped, and a .69 ball. and Eagle cuff, and coat button, and 2 civilian buttons with design. one was just a little flower looking thing around rings, other is in the What is it forum. Oh and a man on a chicken.
Going out yesterday was just supposed to be a troubleshoot for the coil... guess I need to go test my gear more often!

I am thinking your machine does not need service. Ha! Great find. I found my machine goes into chatty cathy mode sometimes too. I think when ground conductivity goes well below the ground notch level it starts to act up, but haven't nailed it down because it is transient. Have fun!

Awesome find! Last Sunday I experienced all this chatter your referring to in a spot I often hunt. Couldn't figure it out. Could it be solar flares?

I didn't even think of ground notch... I went out again yesterday and it was quiet again, so it must have been all the churches in session charging the air lol.

Hunting in sand or wet sand I use those two programs to help quiet the md down.
