The Many Lost Treasures of Mariposa, CA (Photos Added)

Eagle you changed your picture So how are the brakes workin have you been out?
(lol) I was dumping some files in my documents when I ran across this photo from about 5 years ago. I thought; "Why not let my friends see who they're talking to. Unfortunately, if I put up a photo taken now, it would look nothing like this one since I've lost about 40lbs after my surgery. (lol)

Thanks to you my Brother, the brakes are working like new. I'm still embarassed at finding you had to drive so far to my home. But, you've gone a long way in showing what a TRUE Friend truly is!! Thank you Brother!!

I haven't been out yet, but I'm ready. I had a trip scheduled with JHAtwater to an old mine site, to check out the tailings, but I had to cancel out this Monday because my blood pressure had been so low for several days. Last night, I decided to not take a new medication I had been prescribed when all of the low blood pressure began. This morning, when I took my BP readings, my BP was about as close to perfect as it's been in days. Which goes to prove that the doctors are not always right. (lol)

Thanks again Brother!!

Hmm, larger then the 3 small specks that I found. But, a good indication of which type ore to check out. I would like to see it in person, and get a really good photo of it. Perhaps we'll have the opportunity to get together before long. I do seem to be feeling better every day.

Thanks My Friend!!
Has anybody herd from Eagle down? It has been awhile. Is he ok? Catfishjim90

I'm fine my friend. I just made that little post above on the 14th, so it's only been 3 days. (lol) I've just had a lot to do around here. Trying to catch up with what didn't get done while I was in the hospital.

Hope you're not getting smoked out Eagle. That fire sure displaced a lot of people. Stay safe.
Fortunately, the prevailing winds are out of the South, which is keeping the smoke well to the North of me. Yeah, that's probably one of my biggest worries, a fire in this area. We've been pretty lucky for the last couple of years. They did have one get started in Coarsegold area about 3 months ago, but they got it out before it had a chance to get out of control.

Hey eagle
Do they do lots of control burns yearly around your area? Or do they leave that up to the property owners?
I know that the grasses can get out of hand with a couple good rains and then the hill turns green and then brown next week.
I had spent the weekend up at my moms place in payson. It's by the mogollon rim. Beautiful area and views of pines. You can hear the winds blow through the canyons and the piñon pine trees. I swear you can hear the voices of the past call out to you from the bluffs. It's a spiritual area, and probably a good reason why I feel at home there. I noticed though how a week prior. My mothers yard was the decomposed granite yard with an occasional weed, dandelion, and some flowers. Then our monsoons hit. Then it was like somebody threw down bags of grass seed. The grass was everywhere all within the week. So that instant wildfire food just pops up literally overnight.
So that's why I was asking about the control burns. If nobody takes care of those grasses. It doesn't take much to get them going.

Stay safe my brother

Control burn, what's that?? (lol) The property owners have to take care of their own. The rest of the state, the Gov. lets lightening and human nature start those fires. (lol)

Just starting to read through this thread, wow! I love it!
(lol) Welcome to our thread Brother. I checked out your new website and found it to be pretty impressive. It looks like you have a winner there.

I've read the little stories so many times while editing for the book, I've got to where they're a little 'hum-drum'. (lol)

Anyway, feel free to post your comments. I always need some incouragement. (lol)

Thank you! Much appreciated. I think it may take me a few years to get through this thread; but it's far from boring! :occasion14:

Brother Eagle,

Have you ever run across any Manganese mines in your quests?

Not as such. My quests have always centered on gold. But, I don't believe I've ever been in a gold mine that didn't have seams of what I would guess was Manganese. (Along with graphite and rust oxides.)

Eagle, good to see you posting, not been on much myself, too busy lately....Nope anything fun, there ought to be a law against lawyers....lol
Get this done, then the real busy stuff starts...Oh Boy !!! LOL
