I've been hearing from some really experienced relic hunters that period homesites are where its at. Trying to find camps in the woods are like hunting a needle in the haystack, but homesites are producing. This just proves it.

Thank you ALL for your kind replies! We'll be at it again this Tuesday. I've got three new sites lined up. They're an interesting mix. One is a site that I got from word of mouth--and it appears to predate any information I have on the area. So I don't know what to expect there--I'm hoping for an 1830's site. The second is a house site in a cornfield that think I've pinpointed the location of. The third is an existing house that dates to 1890 (which means my CLAD count will probably go up :P). So it should be interesting. We've got permission for all three spots already--but running out of time on the cornfield sites as the spring window closes.

CONGRATS Buckledude, A dream day for any detectorist!!! Research,research,research,the key to success for sure. I know first hand that overload sig on the no target I.D. Fisher and the joy of diggin' something like that up,its nearly overwhelming.You must have a little cooler head than me though as I see you remembered to turn your machine back on when you started in again LOL!!!
