This was a really fun hunt! I wish I would have listened to Jeff a long time ago when he was talking about how he was helping to set them up. I have been missing out! Sorry about the late post but I am still playing catch up. Big thanks to Burdie for getting the permission for all of the hunt sites and all of the work he did setting up and running the hunt. You are a fantastic group! I met lots of great people and got to see some that I knew. I didn't do too good in the hard to dig pasture. I just got some deep small brass items besides lots of trash. I did get into a house site at the plowed field but I just found overall buttons, leather brads, and some other brass stuff. I did my best out in the grass medians the second day. My first good find was an old St Christopher's Medal. Then I found an unlisted Renfrow, O.T. Trade Token. That made my day! I asked our local token collector about it and he offered me $400 for it sight unseen over the phone. After I dug the token I slowed down, worked a pattern, found a ring, 2 silver dimes, and 4 wheaties. I hit another median the next morning before and after watching the cattle drive but all I could get was 7 more wheaties. I headed back home at noon. I had so much fun! I am glad that you all talked or bribed Burdie into doing it again because I do want want to attend.

I ummm......scuffed this poor old token that I dug in the field the first morning. Maybe I put it out of its misery. It looked pretty sickly.

I also found these in the field the first morning. Quite a heavy Copper Wire hook..isn't it?

Found these in the big plowed field late the first day. I don't know what the one mystery piece is.

Found these the second morning in the first grassy field. The gun hammer and 34 or 44 Wheatie came from the stream nearby.

The small jar that says Physician's Sample was given to you by a friend who climbed down the bank just to get it for you and give it to you because that friend knew you would like it. :wink:

Oh well, at least that friend thought about you enough to give it to you and is glad you like it......

First of all I want to thank Stan, Vicky, their family, and friends that put this event on. I also had a great time with the pepole I met, both in the field and the ones that forced me to stay up (that's my story and I am sticking with it) til 1AM talking, listening to stories, and jokes for three nights straight (oh ya and making sure I could walk the 5 feet back to my room at 1:01am). Between all that these are a few of my finds and prizes.

All finds are fantastic and keep sharing them ! I miss all of you! It was sowonderful to see old friends an meet new ones an miss some s wo could not make it !

Not at all, but if I remember correctly he has a future in detecting with all the US & foreign coins he found detecting and an artistic future for carving the best gun out of a motel 6 bar of soap!

really some great finds this hunt,, and many tokens... cameras out, but Ill show mine next week. I didents ee alot of these during the hunt. still amazed what was in the creek.

As would have been expected, my return trip with Darrell (Texwolf) was not uneventful. Seems he got his second wind for joke telling and kept me in stitches the entire way. I can honestly say that God really blessed me when he brought Darrell into my life as my metal detecting partner. Heck, today, we went out water metal detecting, and he skunked me again with his finds! :headbang:

My love for the CTH Family grows each year. Each member is precious to me, and every year brings new and even better memories. While I didn't bring home anything spectacular regarding finds, I brought home memories and friendship. :icon_sunny:
