I have disliked some people until I got to know them. Like what's-his-name "Never Met A Guy He Didn't Like" Will Rogers. Once you share a drink or fish story or whatever common interest you both have, what's the big deal. Unless there are good reasons to continue to hate each other, don't push each others buttons.

Long time ago I read a book "Games People Play". As I was working for folks with hair triggers, who enjoyed pushing my buttons as they could fire me and I had no similar ammunition. The advice I followed worked well for me. I just refused to play their game. Just played dumb. Let insults fly over my head and as I didn't react the way they expected, had no more problems. I listened to their nonsense as if it were life and death. I believed them. Well I am understanding their point of view.

Definition of a good friend is one who knows all about you, and still likes you. We are all different yet the same. For example I've always appreciated meeting new Treasure Hunters. There is always good advice to share and maybe a new detecting buddy. Yeah we talk politics over lunch but then get back to detecting.

I've been happy and I've been sad and angry. Happy is way better!
