Tell me about the XP Deus

I love this thread SUPER SECRET NINJA SETTINGS AND SUPER SECRET NINJA FINDS MAN YOU GOTTA LOVE IT! :notworthy: btw if your ever down this way I got some sites you can go dig iron on.

Really?

This is all you got - and coming from an endorsed Deus Guru?

What, I don't meet the level of your ego requirements?

Teach me, Guru. I'm open to learning. :notworthy:

Edit: I'd take you up on one condition. You drop me off and leave then come back at a pre-arranged time. I'm not giving you lessons for free.

AKA S-Pro fan boy will teach XP Deus detectorists how to set up XP Deus.... :laughing7:
If this happens, would I become an experienced deus detectorist? ???

I'm headed to FL in a few months. Driving down a week early ahead of my family's flight so that I may have my first metal detecting vacation on the way. Relic hunting, jewelry hunting, and when I get to FL saltwater beach hunting. Bringing every metal detector and accessory I own. Should I make some H2H videos on a costal beach Deus v.s. Minelab Sovereign GT v.s Spectra V3i? How funny would that be! Do it "bash' style! :laughing9:

So cleaning up on your worked-out sites Calabash - it's within the realm of possibility!:skullflag:

I'm sure there will be no reply ;)

I got a site just for you loaded with iron it has it all civil war relics, war of 1812 button , 1850 large cent. Let me know when your down this way I would be glad to put you on it. A couple things to keep in mind though its infested with wild hogs which will charge you and maul you,one of the biggest hogs I ever saw was caught on camara this year, it has packs of coyotes, probably a few mountain lions and bob cats there too, a bear was caught on the trail camara, and my most favorite of all it has giant rattlesnakes, water moscassions, and copper heads,my brother in law killed a giant cane brake rattle snake just a couple of feet from his feet. Im dead serious I will put you on this site by yourself you hike into the woods about 300 yards from the road and your there no houses for a long ways. let me know when your coming this way! You a park hunter can go clean up my relic sites good thing that v3i weighs so much because you might have to use it as a club to fight off the hogs.:laughing9:

Sounds like a wonderful place! It really does.

I'll keep you safe. Give me the GPS coordinates and a Marine will go in and clear the field of operations while you wait at home. I'll go-pro it.

Sounds like a good place to camp. Is that allowed there? 8-) I might swing the V3i for 15 hours before dinner. Thanks!

Suchmuch, could you please teach me about the engineering menu?

I'm interested in learning about the Deus.

I looked and version 3.2 does not seem to have the same options, just multi-tid and x-y.

And respect to the Russian brilliance in "rocket science" - first ICBM, first man in space, first satellite in space- Sergei Korolev ...and we couldn't get a rocket off the ground without Von Braun himself. 8-)

Hey can you hack XP so that AKA wins the election........

Nice political jab. Uncalled for, IMO.

If the settings are available with a combination button press....how is this "hacking"?

I'm about to switch to version 2.0 just to see for myself.... cause that's how I roll - trust and verify!

I'm just hoping SuchMuch posts the info for the edification of all!

Deft Tones on a serious note you might just be going backwards ,going back to ver 2 if what hes talking about was all that great ALOT of people would have been talking about it and doing it. I read some where what version 3 had upgraded from 2 full tones being one thing added and maybe something about iron seperation. Suchmuch says the machine wont perform and wont do this and that and so forth even posted a video of the machine hitting a target and it sounding off as iron and the aka when it goes over it high tones. IF those guys went in and changed the internal workings of the machine they could have messed the thing up . So then when you do a test with it and another brand the deus looks bad. im just saying I dont know that for sure. I have example you made a video of the deus and minelab with the 2 nails ,I made one too the results are different I will post a link. Settings will make the machine look good or bad.

I done a short test with 2 nails and a coin. The books are close to the thickness of a 2x4 and notice I have the nails close tom the coin almost on top of it. Do you think the machine performs better iin my video as to the one you shot doing the same test ? If so why do you think that is?

I understand full tones will be lost. I'll sacrifice that feature (my favorite) for increased control over the machine. I've said from the beginning I want a mash-up of V3i/Deus features. I'm not afraid to explore it at any rate. Can always go back to 3.2 if I'm not happy. Had I been aware of this earlier I'd have already tried it.

Argument from popularity? Not effective w/me (after all I use a V3i :laughing7:)

If I happen to jack something up permanently - you'll hear about it on these forums. Believe that!

I agree w/ your settings statement. That's why I desire comparison videos that show everything from set-up through testing without edits. I'm a very skeptical person. Unless the risk is 100% death I like to verify things with experience. Like science - can I replicate it?

Care to guess what I can't replicate at 14 inches with an 11" coil in my soil? :tongue3:

Actually, Calabash, I see the same performance on high conductors. Your video (I admit to skipping around looking for a Sov...lol) is exactly what I expect to see for that type test. Try a lower conductor in the high foil range too...something gold.

I used Gary's Hot settings, and I wasn't trying to make the Deus look like anything in the video I made. I was simply making my winter training video and noticed a few interesting things so I shared for other experienced detectorists, hence no explainations. If the viewer doesn't understand my video, or what's going on... I don't really care to be honest. It's not my problem.

But in my video the nails were larger, bent, and at times 4 of them.

Good demo.

You want to see what we were talking about earlier?

Hit a silver half with the deus. Stack another half on top and hit it again. Stack another half on top (3 now) and hit it again. Eventually you'll lose the signal. To broaden your knowledge repeat with dimes, foil, aluminum, iron, etc.

That banner gold cache this month...the one with colonial rings in a silver tin at depth....easily could have been wrapped on the Deus. Not saying it would have...but that's the behavior I also expect from the Deus. :occasion14:

what depth do I need tom do that at?

just tried it 4 lg cents and a kg george it wouldnt hit till I raised the coil up above the coins to 1 1/4 inchs but at depth it wasnt a problem. is that what your talking about? I never notch anything ever so for me to test it that way doesnt fit my style.

There is no bashing with AKAs so why mentioning it? It's worth to check Deus tweaked via engineering menu vs Deus set up
the way you are used to

I'll start translating tomorrow and hope to finish it within couple of days. Results will be provided to Deft tones

To easily see the effect (as far as signal loss - lower frequencies harder to wrap upwards, lower conductors harder to wrap upwards) try 18khz, notch nothing (how I hunt too), discrim nothing, and use large silver coins then tell me what you observe. This isn't the only wrap demonstration one can do. Can be done on low conductors too. And we've not even introduced how mineralized soil causes more problems at depth as of yet.

Thank you. I was just going to try it and translate it myself with Google. :laughing9: I'm used to doing these things without help.....not that I'm refusing any help. I appreciate any advice from RU Deus gurus and their methods. Thank you so much. :occasion14:

Like I said before, it is not prospecting machine, but I am surprised you got no signal. I mean, gold field is basically the Deus equivalent of all metal. I find very small pieces of metal when beach hunting in gold field (in fact it is really frustrating becasue I do not beach hunt with a pinpointer, only a scoop, so when it locks on to something small enough to fall through the scoop holes it is frustrating to locate. Did you have gold field set up at 18khz when you ran the test? Perhaps not high enough as you said for such very small flakes since the Goldmaster is probably operating at 2 to 3 times that frequency. You will find gold jewelry and larger nuggets though and if XP ever releases their high frequency hardware and software, will be operating at frequency equivalent to the Goldmaster and its ilk.

I don't recall what frequency I was using. I'd test again now, but I need to be away from the house... I get a ton of interference here in my yard.

Its kind of moot for me at this point, anyway. I no longer live in an area that has any significant amount of native gold. If I do any sort of gold hunting now, it will be on vacation.
