Awesome cache of silver flatware, treasuredog! The only time I ever unearthed that many forks and spoons they were stainless steel.

So what do you think value of these spoons/forks would be? Im not talking scrap value. Especially the Navajo turquoise Spoons. What do you think?

Those are some interesting looking spoons/forks and several different patterns as well. From the color of the stone on the one spoon it might be turquoise. Good success on your further searches......63bkpkr

To have any collector value they need to be in pristine condition... (No dents, No spots, No large scratches. Have a nice design and/or an unusual shape... Most of them are likely just scrap, unless you have a rare one but they seem basic. I think the English ones need research and the one with the turquoise needs some research... Also the one with the twisted design unless that's the nickel silver one, needs researched... You need to look at the marks again to determine if you have anything special.... You should have 3 marks in this order, What metal it is (.925, Sterling, anchor, Arrow, ext.) The makers mark a letter or symbol (a G with or without an anchor is Gorham Sterling. Kinda common depending on the piece.) Who made it and a date letter at the end. (A letter that represents a date example g = Year 2006 Check those out and research them or tell me or show me a detailed picture of the marks....

Good luck,
Hope that helps...

As to value , regarding the Navajo spoons , there is a lively collectors market for them - but keep in mind it is a niche market. The
awareness nationwide of these items is pretty limited , but in the southwest - New Mexico , Arizona - (Navajo lands ) you can find
collectors for these items . Since provenance cannot be established - (who made them , exactly when , where ) You may not get
a lot for them - If I found these two spoons , I would want $100. a piece for them . I would not clean them or polish them !
if a handle can be gently straightened - that's that will not hurt value - Argentium.

Thank you! I was thinking about 100 a piece, for the navajo ones. Im not out to make money, even though it is nice keep that in mine. I sold silver coins, sterling, and gold jewelery to buy my 1984 Thunderbird,a few years ago.I got 400.00 for a 1997 Ford Ranger. The rest from selling gold from garage sales, silver coins from change(cashier at department store, pocket finds) and of course metal detecting! I sold things that I feel,I could part with and wasnt attached to. Coins 1940-1964,some sterling finds. No personal family stuff. I am starting all over and accumulating it all over again. When silver is low,it not worth selling it. Right now,I am attached to my spoon/fork cache. Who knows if the need arises, maybe I will sell that down the road. Hey enjoy your finds!! Thats what treasure hunting is all about!!! Again, thanks for all the comments and advice!!!!

Sent story to Whites and they are going to publish my story on their website!! Im getting a 100 dollar gift certificate!!! Im so excited!!!!!
