Went out early to beat the heat and humidity, to an old high school turned into an elementary school in the 70's. Someone taking home ec back in the day, must must have lost mama's or granny's silver thimble. It's my first sterling thimble so it was a good day.
No other good finds, but a little battery money always helps. Thanks for looking.

Congrats on the silver thimble! That's on my wish list... all I find is the aluminum ones.

Best of luck to you!

Even thrifting and rummaging, I rarely am able to find the sterling thimbles. Great find!

Congrats! Any Silver day is a good day! :occasion14:

How do you know its silver? Do they mark it on the inside? I found an old thimble yesterday and didn't realize it could be silver.

Thanks!

It should be marked Sterling, although sometimes they're a little sneaky with where they label it.

Look for a bench mark on the inside of the tip. Nice rhimble

BBG, it is marked sterling, May 31, 98. Like pjentry and Scrappy noted, the mark can be hidden.

A gorgeous silver thimble! Congrats! -Lisa & John
