Silver, copper and rust.......I am keepin' all of it!!!!!!

Got out today after work for about two and a half hours. I hit some parts of Logan that haven't seen any activity in years....No I ain't tellin' where ;). Gotta tailgate me for that one. Temps were warm up to around 80 or so I think. Sure was warm. Actually broke a sweat detecting for the first time in months. Here's the line-up:

Aluminum button and a sweet bottle. The bottle is unbroken!!

Eagle button (my first!!) and an Iron "C" (for Camp?)

A lock it seems and an aluminum piece (RIA 1909)

My very first silver button. It has a gold toning building up on the back... Plated maybe?????

Got this Jefferson in my change the other day. I saw it in the draw and got excited!! I hoped she would grab it!! You can tell they are pre 1960 just by looking at them......

A few other finds were made. Not prepared and not interseting enough. I tried a new tactic today and hit a ravine. I have on ethat I think will provide me with a few more finds......I hope!! Thanks for lookin'! Any help on the RIS 1909 piece would be appreciated.

Some nice finds!!!!!! ;D Looks like a good spot!!!!

Could that aluminum piece have been used with a strap through that slotted hole to secure something??Looks like the smaller end of it is broken off....would that have been mounted on anything???
Interesting !!!!

Cool finds silver, copper and the rust. It isn't necessary to say exactly where it's enough that you said you are going to hunt a ravine. so I am guessing that it isn't a park, or a playground but maybe a house or just some vacant property where something went on years ago. NO MATTER. Great find. WTG ::)

Nice haul. It would be unusual to Gold plate a solid silver button. So I suspect its another metal but still very decorative.

You're hunting in the right spot. I'd go over that place many times with a slow swing and dig everything.

Cool button!

Some info on R.I.A

Rock Island Arsenal Garrison's Role in Ordnance Production

The Model 1903 rifle, a .30 caliber, bolt-action rifle, was first manufactured at Rock Island Arsenal from 1904 to 1913. Approximately 234,000 rifles were produced. Production was reestablished in September 1916. During the First World War, nearly 114,000 Model 1903 rifles were manufactured in whole or as repair parts.

A wide variety of personal equipment, such as 1,512,190 bacon cans (or mess kits), 354,770 mess knives, 649,457 canteen covers, 858,344 haversacks, and 400,256 pack carriers were produced at the arsenal during the First World War. Until August 1, 1918, all artillery harness supplied to U.S. forces was manufactured by the arsenal, and a total of 24,212 sets were made and 74,207 sets were assembled.
