7.08 grams

been a hard couple of years, forrest fires, thieves, high graders and fish and shame always mucking everything up. Still managed to find a little color, this is all glacial till and takes a ton of color to make any weight. Too bad I couldn't have kept the weight when it had all the mercury in on it....

O2 any lesser man woulda' jus' thrown in the towel and walked away. Your like the proverbial everyready battery --you keep on a tickn' no matter what crappola is thrown at ya. True addiction it is and none finer -kudos-John :headbang:

Guys, I'm new here, but I have to say that I am really enjoying this thread. I love seeing the finds and hearing the stories. I hope to post a find here someday (soon?!). Keep it going!

I am in California. Right now, it's a toss up between gold pan and metal detector. I enjoy all sorts of treasure hunting. History and geology are big interests. I think this is the right hobby for me!

What a awesome old cabin, we had one on our claims, but the lack of a forrest policy burnt it to the ground:BangHead::cussing:

Hey John, that is a wonderful picture and takes me back to the time when such sites were more plentiful, a two story units are not that common (IMHO). There used to be one down on the NFAR at an old town site I would think it served double duty as a general store/meeting house/etc. Forest Service took it down. Also, used to be a two story Ten Stamp Mill bout half way down the mountain that had a structure around it. A few miners cabins or huts (wooden versions of a plastic tarp cover) were also around.

My guts churn as well knowing the country I've left for a period of time however the realities of life Demanded I take action. I am good at saving money so I will be ok at the end of my time here. My 92 Bronco and I will once again be seen in the NorCal hills, hang in there as like McArthur "I will return".....63bkpkr

A little over a third of a ounce of glacial till. Fine fine gold, thanks gold hog matting8-)
