Today we returned to the Saxon Site in the hope of a Sceat. Sadly it was still an ankle breaker & after 2 hours 15 minutes we gave up with just a Saxon Pin, Saxon Strap-end & Medieval Horse Pendant.
I then challenged Cru'dad to pick a field on the way home & he chose a site that he has mentioned a couple of times & I've not been keen. It's a low yield Roman Site that has had less than 30 bronzes & no silver. However, it was his pick & at least it had been deep ploughed & rolled.(2 hour hunt)
So as it happens it was totally the right call with a Roman Silver Pin (Treasure) & CELTIC GOLD!!! (My second this year)

12 Roman Coins
2 Tudor Buttons
Medieval Horse Harness Pendant (Type I need)
Saxon Pin (near complete)
Saxon Strap-end
Roman Bronze Pin
Roman SILVER Pin
Romano-Celtic Ring (shame it's broke) We have had this in kids size, but this is daddies...
Celtic Gold Stater of Cunobelin circa 10-20AD.:headbang:

You are a class act Cru, very cool to give it to him. It sure is nice to have good relationships with the people that own the hunting properties.

I’m curious, how many Celtic gold coins have you dug over the years?
I think its 14, maybe 15.

I would let Cru Dad keep picking the fields :laughing7:

I always look forward to reading your posts and seeing your great finds!...Nice stories, great finds, and fair and honest play. Will you adopt me? [emoji6]

Do you eat much? I have little money for food.

Oh...I DO like food...especially dark chocolate...guess adoption is off the table LOL

The yellow coin looks like gold. :laughing9:
That's a great coin buddy. Banner 200%

So Cru Dad's instinct paid off big time with another gold coin for your collection! :occasion14:
I'm more likely to find 'Old Vickie' here in Canada then a gold coin any day. :laughing7:

As ploughed field Vickies go, that one was OK.
