ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!
Congrats!!

Ron - That is a great find ! I don't share your opinion of either the age of this- or it's use/ function . My opinions
are based foremost on what your "ingot " is clearly showing us - it has been hammer and anvil forged extensively en route to becoming
a small flatware item (I'm guessing spoon ) This is identical to numerous ingots I have forged in making small spoons - the important
difference is that yours is gold . In earlier periods of European /English history - salt was a very precious commodity , and I'm guessing
that your ingot is the start of a salt spoon . At 11 grams it's over a third of an ounce - certainly large enough to draw out with the
hammer forging . I realize I'm building a long chain on what many will see as a weak link, but the ingot shows a
very intentional and specific kind of forging . Clearly this would have been made for a royal or nobleman . Ron , I certainly do not
intend to disrespect your considerable experience in any way with running this theory of mine- but if you have any blacksmith friends
or silversmiths who are experienced in hand forging flatware , I'd be curious to hear what they think .

Congratulations Ron, That is an amazing find- whether it is chunk payment or spoon blank doesn't really matter- it's old lost GOLD, and you found it.

Thank you for sharing and for the vid's you have made- they have helped me a lot. I hope the vid of this find teaches me how to find gold. haha- can't wait to see it. HH

Worked for me. Of course not everyone finds gold or treasure every single time they hunt.Once is hard enough right Stewie? Anyways nice find Ron. I always enjoy seeing your finds and am glad you share. Imagine hacking off a little gold here and there so make payments. Pretty cool. What were the other artifacts found with it to identify it?

I agree What other Relics did you Find ? just the one ?
I sure would like to see pics & Id's of all your finds for the day.

nice hunk of gold
