Record Gun Sales in Maryland as Tyrannical Law Looms

September 25th, 2013

(KurtNimmo) – State police in Maryland report a record number of firearms applications ahead of the implementation of a draconian anti-Second Amendment bill on October 1.

Constitutional lawyer argues against Maryland’s controversial anti-Second Amendment law.

“It’s nothing like we’ve ever seen before in the history of the Maryland State Police,” Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley told CBC News in Washington, D.C.

As of Friday, the police have received over 100,000 applications. The cops say they will not enforce the new requirements on applicants submitting prior to law going into effect next month.

The law signed by Maryland’s Democrat governor and former Baltimore mayor, Martin O’Malley, bans a large number of firearms the government has classified as “assault weapons,” imposes a ten round restriction on magazines, and forces handgun buyers to hand over their fingerprints to the state.

For some Democrats, however, the law is not restrictive enough. Jordan Cooper, a Democrat Delegate candidate from Bethesda, has called for gun confiscation in addition to biennial (every 24 months) renewal of gun licenses. Cooper exploited the Navy Yard shooting in nearby Washington when he proposed his legislation on September 18.

Cooper’s proposed bill calls for firearms “lacking registration with the state or having expired registrations be surrendered to the State and that the State proactively seek to retrieve and confiscate all firearms with expired registrations exceeding six months.”

In other words, under Cooper’s proposed legislation, the Maryland State Police would be required to “proactively” confiscate firearms from residents who do not obey state law.

Earlier this year, as the government prepared its legislation, the firearm manufacturer Beretta USA threatened to abandon the state. On September 18, Texas Governor Rick Perry toured the Beretta facility in Accokeek, Maryland, just over the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., as part of an effort to lure business to Texas.

Don't forget their lies when they say they are not after our guns....

We are surrounded. :angry5:

i ve heard of these (proactive) tactics before, where they go door to door and confiscating private property,it was the gustapo, they to worked for a man who disregarded the rights of anyone that disagreed with his views, i cant believe that i could even draw the slightest paralells, between them and america now.what do they honestly think they are going to accomplish with these laws, people will still kill people, pencils dont misspell words, guns dont kill people. all they can realisticly accomplish is armed rebellion, cause they will not get mine, and i am not alone.i fear there is soon going to be a point of no return.

Crazy gold's new name is Speaks from Heart.

Would it be so bad with less guns in America, things change all the time usually for the better.

Our right to keep and bear arms is a right guaranteed in our Constitution's BILL of RIGHTS. It is a RIGHT we will NEVER surrender.

silver searcher ---WHATS WRONG WITH ARMED CRIMINALS AND EVERYONE ELSE BUT THE COPS AND MILITARY BEING UNARMED ? sheep to the slaughter * if you do not have the "brains" to see what the "problem" is , then you are part of the problem -- if you want to be "disarmed and unprotected" fine, (counting only on the police to "protect you") so be it -- I don't , and its not your right to make me into a "unarmed" waiting to be next victim -- I have the "right" to protect my life and that of my loved ones and my property earned from my honest labor from wicked and evil men.

Let the police do there job, that's what they get paid and trained for,..not every body is in danger of being a victim, times are changing, get used to it.

Yes know it is, I have read it on here a million times, but it seems like you are moving into modern times, a society with out guns. Evolution I believe.

our right to bear arms was not only for self protection, but also from tyranny,a gov that forces me to bend to their will, this is not a safer world than 1776, and there is no less tyranny, i am aware of an agenda to dismantel americas strength, from within, so we will conform to the global community, this is not conspiracy theory, this is conspiracy fact, these laws are a prerequisit to the disarming of america, they open the door to further legislation down the road, these people in power now are not americans, they were voted in by those who want things given to them,or those who live inside a bubble protected from the harsh realitys of the real world, whose biggest concern is if they can make their hair appointment that day,who dont honestly have a view except what appears to be popular, our 2nd amendment is for the protection of our libertys from government, the same gov trying to take that from us.

If gangbangers were forced to turn in their illegally owned guns and nutjobs made themselves known, there would not be a problem. Even the Navy yard shooter said radio waves were making him do things. Self preservation makes me do things. :)

The only problem being is that its not a cops job to protect you or anybody else.

It is a lonely and barren feeling panning for gold in grizzly country unarmed, which I did last weekend. And just as nerve wracking to walk
through an urban jungle naked to the elements which is the evil of mankind which I have. If you have never felt fear, you have been nowhere
and done nothing. The world will never commit to peace on it's own. And when you see peace on the horizon, behold the horror approaches.

SS........it doesn't matter how many guns there are in America, it matters that guns can be owned by our citizens whether we choose to own one or not. I've never had to "Take the 5th" like the crooked bit$h that was running our IRS did but, I would be the first to protect it as one of my "inalienable rights" whether I choose to exercise it or not. Yes, times are changing, there are nutjobs everywhere and, if you depend on the police for protection, you're in big trouble. The Navy yard victims were on a military establishment and yet a nutjob that had "radio waves" controlling him killed a bunch of folks with a shotgun and a pistol that he got from one of his victims. Our vice president (all small letters on purpose) has told us ALL to get a shotgun so apparently that isn't the answer although obama has put him "In Charge" of controlling guns. Speaking of evolution, aren't your Bobbies carrying weapons more and more these days?

SS The response time for police in most cases is in minutes if not tens of minutes, especially in rural areas with not a lot of officers to patrol. Couple that with cuts by our almighty government and what do you have? The need to protect yourself and your family if the need arises. Not to mention an unalienable right that shall not be tampered with.

Police take average 11-20 mins to respond to a 911 call, my firearms respond in thousands of feet per second.

Per Supreme Court police primary function is to investigate and solve crimes not protect the public.

It is our job to protect our families and our selves.....

We are not England, we did not surrender our right to protect ourselves...

The fact that the criminals have not evolved, and have not attempted to enter in to this "gun removal" from society, tells me,
it ain't quite time, to give mine up yet either!

Oh and a BIG HAHAHAHAHA, Let the cops do their jobs! LOL, I started to ask where do YOU live, but, never mind.
We got areas in this country, the cops won't even go IN to them! You have to protect yourself over here!

Wow I can't believe that you are all about to be murdered in your own homes. I wonder how many Americans have lived and died, with out ever owning a gun.
