Ok, this wasn't this past weekends find but it was last weekends find.
Thought I would do a little detecting up on the mountain here in Alabama.
But I found out it might still be a little early. I was just a swinging away in the woods
when all of the sudden I just happen to look ahead of me a few extra feet and there
he was, one big ugly timber rattler. Well since I had not found anything else that day
I tied him to my detector and went home. (after I hit him in the head with a club) ;D
Then I mounted him this past week, and it turned out pretty good..
Sending a few pics. Please be careful out there, those no shoulders are moving
around.

I would not have killed it and it is against the law on any kind of goverment land here in the mountains of TN. Now if it is in my yard it had better get out fast or it is a dead snake. Not upset at you for killing it but you have one now let the next one go. A snake that size would put a hurting on your dog you guys be careful out there and good hunting.

I didn't realize there were so many tree-hugging, beatnik, vegetarian, treasure hunters out there.

I didn't either dex,
Kind of wonder how they get any detecting done and looking out for critters not to step on. :icon_scratch:
I got a few things to say to them the next time one of them kills a carrot or bags a onion. ;D
Just joking, please don't send hate mail. :D

Too late, I'm sure the email's comming..............

Just goes to show, we (humans) are the ultimate predator. As far as grizzly's go you have to wack them with a bigger stick, hmmmm.... I don't know maybe a .338 win. magnum.

great, now that's all settled, let's move on to some less controversial topics like abortion, gay marriage, and offshore drilling......sheesh! :icon_scratch:

I can't figure out why if anyone disagrees with killing wildlife they are tree hugging, beatnik vegetarians, as you put it. I grew up in
southern Ohio when kids actually went outdoors to play. I was an avid hunter with hills all around me, my own backyard was a large hill that the locals called copperhead hill because of the over abundance of what else "copper head snakes". I seen them all the time but never thought about killing one. I was raised that if you hunted you had to clean your own kills and eat what you killed. I got a little older and the desire to hunt slowly left me, I no longer had the heart to kill the animals. On my last hunt my brother and I were hunting on my sisters farm in Kentucky, I shot my prey only to wound it, as I walked over to the animal it was screaming in pain and fear, I had to use the butt of my shotgun to finish it off. I never really had the desire to hunt again. When I say hunting I guess I was really never a hunter, what I mean by this is hunting today consist of getting to your tree stand or your spot in the woods with your state of the art equipment and waiting on your prey to wander by and ambush it, not really hunting in my opinion. I have moved to Illinois and traded hunting in for shooting sporting clays, I now enjoy getting out and competing with the guys and this fills my love for shooting. To answer the question of do I eat meat, yes I was raised like most people eating meat. Yes I do feel sorry for the horrid conditions in the way our meat is slaughtered. I guess i don't have the will power to become a vegetarian. Yes I have a leather wallet, belt and shoes. Am I a tree hugger, I don't think so, by your standards maybe I am, I just love getting out in the woods and enjoying nature in its natural habitat.

When I first read this post, I knew it was going to turn out like this. Like the old saying goes "Opinions are like ***holes everyone has one". That mount looks great. I`d like to get a copperhead mounted like that.HH

nice mount!! I can't believe all the Liberals on here that are giving you a hard time over it. It's too bad that they can't appreciate your taxidermy skill. The world is full of rons.....some are just more.Damn treehuggers. What does it matter to someone else on Tnet what you did?? It's none of their business...and for them to try and say shame on you ??? Are all of them so stinking perfect?? Kiss my a** is what say to them. Keep staying safe out there bro'...HH.
