Finding old stuff, getting paid to do it, too!
Back when I was still working, I found this fragment of a
"Platter Mortar", an Indian grindstone artifact, that was held
on the lap of a woman, when she processed nuts, plant bulbs, etc.
You are looking at the broken end, and showing its slightly concave, bowl-shaped,
very smooth grinding surface on the left. Might have been 24" long, but we never found the missing piece.
