Night Simon

Morning forum friends.

Yeah .Still in planning stage getting parts /pieces/and odds and ends lined up.Thinking of overall size(of the table) to be 3'x5'. Still drawing ideas,Got any ?Looking at gold recovery in the range of +/ - 100 mesh.

Dug out some stuff that just might work for the table top.003.JPG
And the sander might work as a vibrator :) Also a 600 GPH pump from another DIY project.004.JPG

The idea started off as a gold shaker table. But I'm thinking its evolving into a Shaker Miller table.Something like this ,only bigger, for more material processing >>

You all seem to have missed the point. Did you not see the wall decor on the right? Every man, woman, and child that is old enough to know what one is, has been totally impressed with that added feature in our bathroom. You don’t need to mess with the seat. I even got “thank you’s” from our friends! IMO they should be standard in every home. :laughing9:

I really thought I would get some “‘ell yeahs!” Or these:
:occasion14: :headbang: :notworthy: :hello2: :icon_thumleft::icon_thumright::thumbsup:

What’s it take to impress you guys?:dontknow:

I guess I should have a sexy model posing with it. :tongue3:

That is the secret. Just throw in a pretty girl and Tom and Simon will agree to anything you post ;)

Tom,

I tracked down a couple of pictures of a viking arrowhead to tease you....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

I might take a stab at buying it....it might come in handy if I have to start hunting for food the old fashioned way....:laughing9::laughing9::laughing9:

Folks,

Speaking of arrowheads here's a short video that shows how to make a simple home made steel arrowhead.

You could make one out of a three cornered file. Is that one kind of high?
It would be cool to hold one.

Hey Bill :icon_thumright:

If you hunt an animal with that one, it will die on blood poisoning!! :laughing7:

Is it real to buy? Don´t do it, it is restored and just started again to corrode from inside.

Btw: who says that it is viking? It is just a common medieval type and no one could say if it was made and used by vikings :icon_thumleft:

good idea but the metal is way too thick and heavy. (I would n´t even use it on my strongest crossbow!) It will fly very ballistic and loose way too much energy very quickly. You would have to use such a strong bow which no normal man couldn´t pull to hunt just under 30 yards. Also, the more ballistic, the harder too aim!
So a little bit knowledge about ballistics and arrows would help to build the right effective arrow.
Anyway, there is a lot of other material out there which can be used as arrow heads without damaging other needed resources like metal saws etc! Who would use his wood axe to split bricks?! :laughing7: Always protect resources :icon_thumright:
With modern professional material it is hard enough for newbies to hunt, so a self made arrow will be almost a "one shot" and it is gone because it breaks or you can´t find it back. So why wasting other resources to built such heavy metal arrows? I mean, you make maximum 10 arrows out of such thick material and a good metal saw blade is gone.

Here is a pic that shows where the FOC has to be.
If you build your own arrows in a worst case scenario, you can play just a little bit with the arrow length if your tips are a little bit too heavy to get a better FOC.
A perfect FOC lies 3" from the middle directed to the front of an arrow. An arrow always has to be a little bit topheavy or it will change direction at the end of it´s flight.
