Odd job, you sound like the guy who can get me a working 30-30 (affordable)
I have wanted one my whole life (must be the John wayne movies)

Found a model 1894 32 40 Commemorative JW the other evening on Gun Broker for only 800 bucks. The one I own I paid new in box 350 bucks many years ago and it is worth between 2800-3000. Gun and ammo is about the only thing I buy more than bicycles.

I am sure I could find a cheap 3030 some where, but I would never sell any of mine. I have never purchased a 3030, just never had a use for one, but I have my families entire weapon collection since the 1820s. Just gets passed down through the generations, we buy what we need really. You can look at some of the weapons tell what someone was into mostly by the type of weapons.

Certain weapons however I can get really cheap, but all tactical. Never been much into selling weapons, but pointing folks in the right direction does not hurt.

Tom,

Here's a link for one not sure if this is what you're looking for or not.

Guys, does someone know any nice documentations on YT about (real, not detectorist clips) archeology in the US ?

I mean in ghost towns or "wild west digging", not civil war or something else.

It is real hard for me to find something. Some years ago I saw one where an archeologist dig under a store and found a saloon very deep under the soil. (I even can´t find this one back...)

Thanks!!

and here in small :laughing7:

Just recognized that I am definitely 40 years too old... :icon_scratch:

How do you figure you are to old ? If anything, you probably have thought of uses for this that nobody else has even considered :laughing9::laughing9::laughing9:

SVD,

Mine is from 1978, picked it up for 35 USD in Serbia back in 2005. Iron sight 900 meters, decent optics 1400 meters.

My two primary rifles I carries where Soviet, good weapons but also because of the places I travelled to. But you sure would not catch me with a Soviet side arm.

This include the Tokarev ?

Ya I just want a working one for animals or if someone broke in downstairs during the night

I will be close enough to be accurate
But I don ‘t need anything expensive or registered

For that Jeff, I would be more inclined to look at shotguns. Inside a house intrusion I feel a rifle is better than nothing, but would be my last choice. Just my opinion.

Also, you have to think of a round going through a wall, hitting soneone in the next room or outside.
I got a 30-30 I bought new in the seventies. Nice deer guns in these woods.

Yes and with a shotgun you have a larger cover area not to mention the sound factor ! Everyone knows the sound of a shotgun and how wide the pattern may be. With a rifle or pistol, you have a much smaller target area. With a rifle, AFTER you miss on the first shot, you may have it taken away from you and now you become the target. Shotgun shells can be loaded with different size shot to give you the coverage and penetration you are comfortable with. Me......... shotgun for distance and an early warning to intruder that I mean business, then pistol for close combat.
