Folks,

Rod Stewart-Baby Jane the Sax Player is Katja Rieckermann from Lubeck, Germany just for Tom....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

How many acres? If you don't want them hunted don't worry about it. I support hunting and over population leads to disease and starvation but unless Ohio is swarming with deer that isn't an issue.
Just whatever you decide don't let people pressure you and then feel guilty cause a deer got killed.
If your cousin is responsible and not gonna shoot toward your house that is good.
Just do what you are comfortable with doing is what I think.

WD,

Your cousin sounds like a city person doing his best to talk you into hunting.

Call your local Game Wardens office, they will likely tell you that nature has done just fine managing its self.

Anyway, only say this because I have heard plenty of folks say the same, just yet to hear it come from someone educated in the field.

You guys have "pegged" my cousin. He is a BS-er. LOL! We have 40 acres, but deer don't respect property lines. There are 100's of wooded acres in this area that they roam. As far as shooting at my house goes.... those pics are from my front yard. All anyone would need to do is sit on my front porch and wait until they come for the crab apples. LOL!

Oddjob thanks for the reminder. I happen to know someone that used to be a game warden. I will ask their opinion.

Thanks for the input, guys!

WD,

I agree with Oddjob and HBP if you want the deer left alone so be it. Wildlife is under so much pressure these days it's good if you can give them and other critters a sanctuary on your land.

WD,

Your rusted triangle item could be a type of harrow tooth or tine for breaking up the soil.

I knew it was something, because I can see the serrated marks. I am trying to find an old house site. An old timer that grew up a few properties up the road, said he remembered a house at that end of our farm. This guy is in his late 90's. He said the foundation I found over by my driveway was a slaughter house. He said he can remember cows wandering in and out of the old house on the north end that I am searching for. But, I have yet to find anything household related there. Only farm fence and farming stuff. That green grounding wire was interesting in it's location. It kind of makes me wonder if the road has been moved at some point. :icon_scratch:???:dontknow: Maybe the house is further west than what I am searching. Clues and puzzle pieces.

We enjoy seeing them. There are an abundance of coyote out here that take care of the deer population. If anything, I might let some coyote hunting go on. But I am a super "softie." I don't like killing anything but spiders, mosquitoes, and flies. I caught a mouse once and threw it in the pond. A bass snagged it right away. I felt bad. All I wanted to do was make it swim a little. :sadsmiley:

RTR,

I would prefer that over an old Nova. He's been talking for so many years though. I am wondering if the "right anything" will ever come along.

Folks,

Check out this guy's profitable cattle ranch doing it the old fashioned way and helping the environment.

Mr Wd just said, " You treat this forum like a :censored: job!' I smiled and said, "It's funner than my :censored: job." LOL! :laughing9:

Simon and HBP, you weren't very active last night. I am going to have to give you a new nick name. :laughing7:
