Hard to tell just from a picture but looks fairly legit. What's the reputation of the seller when buying online that's usually my first reality check when buying merchandise.

This is on "letgo" so I'm not really sure about the reputation of the seller, I will look into his profile but I'm guessing spanish silver is not his strong point as far as knowledge goes. As a matter of fact I don't know anything about the stuff as well....but because I'm on Tnet I get exposed to alot of stuff that when I see something that has potential value I recognize it.

I did buy a ring at goodwill a while back that had a silver roman coin set in it...still don't know anything about that. But whatever it is the value was destroyed when it was soldered in, so it must be a fairly common Roman silver.

A quick search had those priced in the thousands. Probably a fake.

Yep sounds a bit sketchy if there's providence relating to the atocha with legit documentation, but pretty much anyone can make claims. Backing it up is another matter....

After reading some of these Diaries of a southern females at a a plantation in the south and Diaries of slaves. My mind has really changed about slavery. Slavery in general is bad but the way the schools and how people have Twisted history makes it sound like every Plantation owner an overseer was brutal to the slaves. And it's pretty far from the truth, yes some plantation owners was super brutal and even killed slaves. But therwereas some plantation owners that was really good to them.

No my favorite diary was a woman who was born in 1800s and got to see the change into the 1900s. She really describes in detail how things have changed.

There is a lot that I have left to learn. That's one of the coolest things about this site. I've learned a lot from the people on here. Keep on sharing what you learn.

That's funny! I had to read it a couple times...My wife said "ya it could be taken two ways!" ...I was reading it the Dark way. I kept thinking that's a sick sign...Then she said "no..Scream until he stops the car at the DQ!" ......Ohhhhh now I see!
