photo-1010.webp ill probably work at the saw mill today. Waiting on parts to continue this mahogany. Burnt the coil in mid cut and now the saw is not running. So we are joining 2 book end matched slabs together in a big glue up. Also making some wood carving mallets out of mahogany heart wood on the lathe. We are also bending a rebar base for a large coffee table.

View attachment 1622987 this friend of mine has an incredible collection of hip hop jewelry. I call it his costume. This chain is 10 ounces of 14k. Im currently searching for a 4 ounce chain that he lost while on the wave runner. No luck but I know the general area. He says that if I find it he just wants the treasure coin back and I can have the chain. So far no luck. The gold one is a work in progress, links are cast from scrap gold and added to the chain. Hes trying to build it up to 16 ounces !!

Good luck with the hunt! :icon_thumleft:

I thought you had found a real Derringer pistol WD !! Looks like it wont be long before you find something fantastic !! Your putting in the time and it will pay off. Nice work WD congrats !!

Thanks. I hope so. I'm slowly but surely learning.

Bart, I hope some day Mr WD gets to meet you! I swear you are like 2 peas in a pod! Busy, busy, busy! And I know he would love to check out the saw mill.

As long as it isn't farm fence or nails, I'm good. :tongue3:

I'm off!

Have a Blessed Day everyone!

Folks,

Me and the Mrs are on a cooking marathon this weekend....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:

We scored a case of Italian tomatoes for a good price. $9.00 for about 25 lbs. so tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, chutney, etc...

I also picked about 10 lbs of crabapples from a nearby park for jelly.

Our basil plant is getting huge so tomorrow I'll probably whip up a batch of homemade pesto sauce. A little trick since a little goes a long way is to freeze it in icecube trays and then place the cubes in a freezer bag.
That way you just take what you need.

Tonight for supper were having those jumbo shells stuffed with riccotta and spinach(I cheated and cut some swiss chard from the garden as a substitute).

Does anyone know where to find Civil War caps or hats that are authentic?
Autumn is coming. My favorite season.

Hillbilly Prince,

I can't provide a link because it's a commercial site, however, do a search for C&C Sutlery who make reenactment clothes and accessories.

I went to my Mom and Dad's today. I metal detected their back yard. I did that last year with the Delta 4000, but I didn't find but a couple nails and a spoon. The ground was really dry and hard and the Delta was acting up, and I knew too little about it, so, I gave up. Well, it's been raining these past two days. My Dad thought it was going to be a muddy mess. It wasn't. The topsoil was moist, but once I got past that it was dry. I chose the garden area. As usual, I dug up a lot of trash. I did get a 1967 quarter and a 197? penny, both roached and my Dad obviously hit the quarter with the tiller. I had this one target that was deep and I had a hard time finding it with the pin pointer. I knew by the way it was hit and miss that it was small. Finally, I found this pellet. It brought back a memory. My brother shot me when I was 6/7 and got his pellet gun immediately taken from him. I looked up and realized I was at the back of the garden where it all took place. I made my way back up to the house and got another signal. I dug up this little cap gun. I don't remember playing with it. It must've either been my brother's or one of my grandsons'. Kind of a cool hunt down memory lane.

When I was little we had a toy derringer. My older brother would get it out to play and I would, according to him, go crying to Mom to make him let me play with it. Many many years later he gave me a toy derringer for Christmas. Guess he finally got over me being "spoiled" :)
