I did not read this in the article, but wouldn't the original country of origin, Spain, also have a claim? It seems to me, that even though it's been over 300 years, it is Spain's lost treasure. On a much smaller scale for comparison, if you or I was to find a class ring, we would search and return it to the original owner. Do you see where I am going?

Good morning, gold boy. I am anxious to see your awesome find! Did you post it yet? If so, where?

....

WD, you have to give this class ring back to the theft who stole it! :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7: :laughing7:

Do you see where I am going?! :headbang:

Tom,

You have a good point pretty much all the Spanish sunken treasure was stolen from the people of Mexico and South America to begin with.

Of course that won't stop Spain from trying to claim it or a large part of it since it was on a Spanish vessel when it sunk.

So I am dirt fishing at the campground today. My neighbors also metal detect. Due to health issues, they haven't for a couple years. Don't you know, he just told me Where to go look for old coins! Good neighbor right there!

Here you go, Tom. Maybe I can give you a laugh.

....

If a criminal throw his gun in a river after he killed someone, does he get it back later or is this crime evidence hold by the judicial system and will be destroyed? :laughing7:
The vessel is part of a humanistic crime and Spain should not get any rights on it - period!
But the "law" says somthing different when it comes to ships and the cargo and if you have one of the best J**** laywers like Mr. GOLD, the law will be BENT for you.... :laughing7: :headbang:

The only ones who has a right on the vessel and it´s treasure are the finders who spent MILLIONS to find it and the nation from which it was stolen (IF descendants of this people still exist!)

Btw.: in my opinion the state where this treasure hunters comes from has also no right on anything like taxes or part of the treasure etc!!! As example, if treasure hunters spent millions like Mell Fisher and they find nothing before they get completely broke, this "states" also don´t help them because they lost everything!

High risk buisness = no taxes, no money for the "states"! They only take if you win. If you loose they let you stay in your destroyed life! THIS is CRIMINAL!

Tom,

You have another very good point. But as we know governments whether municipal, state/provincial or federal tend to do tax grabs every chance they get.

Don't know how it works in Germany but where I live there's something called a welcome tax....lol.

If I sell my house and move to another city nearby when I buy another house I get charged a welcome tax which amounts to thousands of dollars based not on the cost of transferring the ownership, etc....but on the value of the house.

Like the old saying says only two things are certain in life death and taxes.....:laughing7::laughing7::laughing7:
