Hey Bart.
Yesterday afternoon (at 3:40) while watching the weather channel live at Vero beach,A guy was metal detecting on the beach.Wearing a yellow rain coat & black baseball cap. Was that You ?

More importantly, why would anyone even want to eat it now :dontknow:

Recreation, preservation, and most importantly, teen curiosity as to what my ancestors ate on the march. Don't you think it's better for a teen to be curious about army food instead of "other" things? :laughing7:

I would first start with an MRE. :icon_thumright:

This is the 21st century
I guess I just don't understand the need for some to "re-live" wars. Most of us actually lived during periods of conflict and it was not pretty and you don't hear of re-enacting WW1, WW2, Korean War, or the Vietnam War. There was no glamour. Losing a 3x uncle is one thing because that is so distant. Many of us actually lost dads, brothers, high school and college best friends and so these memories are still fresh with us and it is emotional and personal. I applaud your interest and knowledge, but we must agree to disagree on war re-enactments and so I may not give a "Like" on a post, but I do read them and view the videos as I do not want to have a "Closed" mind. Otherwise, keep up the good work. It's nice to see the young generation have an interest in the past rather than forget our history. :icon_thumleft: :notworthy: :icon_thumright:.

Yours looks well organized. You must be really tall :laughing7:
I am, I like using the black patch cables. They become invisible. You can't even tell that there are 300 patch cables on this rack :)

I saw that guy! He was on a mission at the surf line.

Rook, I've actually eaten several MRE's before. A Vietnam war vet who comes up from Alabama every year brings everybody a pile of MRE's. No one knows why, but I love them.

I made the hardtack, and now I know why they are called "sheet iron crackers,: or "teeth dullers". But surprisingly, I like them. I actually would eat them again on a hike or something.

Okay, well I found one bad one. I swear, when I bit into it, I saw sparks flying out of my mouth...

Sometimes, if the soldiers were reallylucky, they would soak them in molasses, and that's pretty good.

Just spotted another metal detector on the weather channel(on cocoa beach Fla.) live at 12:12 PM.This one, middle age white male, slightly balding, white shirt, black shorts,. Detecting with MD in left hand , long pole scoop in Rt. hand, and wearing headset .
