ARC, sh*t happens!

One time just a text link with "Attached bla bla bla" is shown and other times the pic. The admins can change it very quickly that just a link to the original post and not the pic will be shown and everyone would be happy!
Also it makes no sense to write a reply on a post with just a pic and no text at all and no one knows what people talk about.
But anyway, as I said before - it makes no difference in the pic is shown in a reply because just the link to the stored pic is used and it is absolutely the same as there would just stand a text link TO the stored pic!
If this forum got any kind problems with it, than it is simply a question of the programming.
I looked in other threads and there are always pics "reposted" in replies. Why are THERE no problems but always only in your opened threads? :dontknow:

Anyway, sometimes when I am in a rush it takes too much time to edit the posts. The pics load often very slowly in the reply box, specially if the are many pics or large files and there is not much space to click exactly in front or behind the pic to delete it. Many times I deleted most of the message and the quote signs and after posting it and everything makes no sense at all. This is annoying and taking damn lifetime for nothing! Some times I simply forget it because I get an old fart :headbang:

Please talk to the admins or board owner that he changes it, that EVERY TIME only a text link is shown if you think that the pics could make trouble.

You can not demand from people that they have to edit every single reply, so the board does n´t get in trouble or complain how members upload pics to a thread if there are exist in fact two different ways to do it, like you did some weeks ago if you remember - and I just used from the beginning the most obvious way which is to see under the posting box as "manage attachments" . In other forums I´ve seen hundreds of replies to a posts with pics and it seems this problem only exists here on board... this is strange.

It is hard enough to overthinking minimum 5 times every single posting in a Forum with such strong "family friendly" rules. I have no time and fun to pay attention on everything!

Gosh.... it is now more than 30 years ago that I programmed in basic and pascal but let me explain (AGAIN)...

The pictures are NOT stored in the thread and just show up when you open one page. THAN they LOAD into the page and be shown for you or other visitors but just a tiny text link goes to the pic like this: "attachmentid=1747830&d=1567193462" - And compared to the size of just a small pic, this text link is NOTHING!

ALL Board pics itself are stored on a special hard drive partition on the server and not to every single thread!

The board can only get connection problems if many thousand people would look at same time on a single post or a thread.

Just the text link to the stored images under "attachment.php?" does n´t use much space or server time. This are peanuts.

How it works - if no one looking on a thread page, the images are not there!!! PERIOD! Just if you open a page than the board program says "use the attached link to show the onlooker the linked pic which is stored under Attachment.php.... That´s it!

Maybe you remember 30 years ago when the net was very slow. A forum page shown up quite quickly but you can watch in slow motion how the pics load and build up on the pages becasue they was n´t stored there.

Btw. Did you checked out how many stuff is in the biggest thread been posted (CRSIPIN CRITTERS) ??? !

No joke, some weeks ago I saw on a photographers page a woman in nearly same pose with bent out hip. Looked beautiful! Like she would have a latino bubble butt.
Than he showed how she looks in real, just turned her around a little bit for a clear side view and there was NO BUTT at all! I mean there was NOTHING, empty space, a flat wood board!
Was just a good pose and a good work of a photographer.

What´s the meaning of that story... I will tell you!

Whut?

is n´t it allowed to answer if TH tells ARC B/S about how a forum works? May he is an Admin but he has absolutely no idea about the programming behind a forum which is clear to see on ARC´s quote of what he said!

And if ARC directly speaks to me in his posting, I have the right to make things clear or not?!

If B/S is talked, I am sorry but I don´t let it stay as it is! Even if this would mean I got banned! I don´t CARE.
