Iv done alot of trapping in my day and never seen a trap that would resemble that, seems to have square nails rusted in place like a horse shoe....
I looked up antique rat traps and saw similar looking traps. Guessing here that the square nails maybe held the teeth? :icon_scratch:

WD,

Based on this example looks like you might have part of the base.

Non of the rat traps have a hing like yours WD, Im not convinced

Now ya done it, Bart! You found a whazzamacallit, that will trouble us 'til the day we die!

rook that's what I was thinking also....kind of looks from the 2nd picture how that would fold over in 2.

I think you guys have it right. Wonder where the rest went.
I had catfish and fried green tomatos night before last. Thinking catfish and squash later.

Okay. So if not a part of a trap, what else? Now I’m really bugged about it. I might buy it just so I can get better pics. LOL! You know for entertainment.

Yes rusty, it’s all good Bart’s fault! Bruhaha

Sorry I suggested a trap part.:laughing7:

Well I don’t know, rook. I think it’s a good possibility still. I bet if we don’t come to a conclusion, I will buy it and get pictures of it. LOL. I think it was $5.00 and 50% off. Shoot its worth it to me just for us to come to a consensus.

I'd have a DNA test run. Might be some of my kin trapped in that thing.

Notice how cheap these traps we're back when. Not saying this is WD's finddc0369fa20d2232cdcb0f465b2776629.jpg And back then that was a lot of money.

Old bottles and other stuff from years ago:laughing7:d1d99e45dbfec47e6a9982dcd70fcd7c.jpg0d21a0b711dd0f54a157bdf3de646ac0.jpgb3f0219fd004b1ff171e835bdd981b06.jpg1ec7fa4f649c694dc62472d51f4fd9d4.jpg:laughing9:7d96425d9a92358d11ad75bc306a4caa.jpg763c233ef7d3a354dd529ce3f4d0f068.jpg610537d69064865880912072c6b0c25f.jpg:laughing7:
