Got the half now apart and have problems to remove this fat my friend put on to preserve the leather...
But it is to remove and the leather will be smooth to work with when I am finish with cleaning.

Found also traces wood inside, so it makes it easier to reconstruct the gone inside. The case was slightly bent to fit ergonomically on the hip! This will get tricky to carve it out of a new piece of wood so the leather fits later perfect and can be stitched together again.
I LOVE those king of work!!
When I have all pieces apart and the leather fragments are cleaned from the inside encrustations, I will make new photos of all this MESS A shock photo so to speak, than you will see it when everything is puzzles together and looks later like a Toaster or something from outer space
These will go on the bouy fence in my collection. Since theres no beachcombing forum on here I rarely show all my fantastic finds.... theres a whole world of us out there collecting everything from bouy's, and bottles, to seabeans and ambergris. These bouy's are collectible, or can be reused by fisherman. These would be called plastics and are worth 20 - 50$ heres my collection, I also go after the old fishing lures....as you can see.
heres some metal floats....they are much older, and much more desired. We have plastics, foamies, and metals in that shot.I have at least a thousand fishing lures hanging on the fence. Or falling on the ground I see.
A peek in the pirates chest !! I'm slowly filling it up with dug clad, and dug costume jewlrey!! That's about 2 years worth of clad and crap jewlrey. Lol.
Folks,
I tripped over this video about Vauban in Freiburg, Germany. Neat concept pretty much car free zone.
Folks,
At the neighborhood pub I go to the regular gal who serves us is having a birthday next week. Since she's hitting the big 40 we'll be making a bit of a splash with gifts, etc...
She's a big fan of the Oak Island show which she mentioned to me last week. I told her I knew Gary Drayton and she was all surprised....
I told her it was a pretty tight knit community and most of us pirates knew each other...
In any event I have an autographed book I'll be giving to her as a gift among other surprises for her.
