Yes, encased in limerock, and can be found throughout inland Florida.
Florida was once under the ocean and in areas, like Peace River, are known for megalodon teeth.

Yep lots of the treasures went missing and never accounted for and the archies have to gall to call detectorists all kinds of names.

Hypocrites because they want to keep a monopoly of what is underground.....what they don't get is artifacts from the past belongs to the general population of the country where there are found and not the archies.

I bought a huge box of shells for 2 bucks.
Some look like clusters of shells stuck together.


And then there is tons of stuff like this.
Coral I'm guessing.




That creamy colored stuff feels waxy.

Based on some of the articles I've read most of the original artifacts are under lock and key and the replicas are for display. This is for security purposes or so they say.
