Detectorists...save and preserve history..
An archeologist would rather make a law that lets the item rot in the ground versus letting some twit redneck treasure hunter dig it up!

Sorry if that ruffles any feathers.
I've met and talked with several true archeologists who have the opinion of treasure hunters just how I stated above.

How can they say that ?
I personally take great care and record everything I find if I know it is NOT modern.
GPS coordinates everything.
I won't post my preserved treasures simply because of what Tom said in an earlier post about talking about going on vacation online...real dumb thing to do.
I learned that lack of common sense thing many years ago... ironically not long after I left home because I knew more than my parents did!!.......HMM... ugh, if only for hindsight coming too late lol

I was afraid of that.
No where left in the State of Michigan were there aren't signs saying that plastic residue in the fish will kill you.

God gave us this beautiful rock and we've all but ruined it.

Ive got some neat varieties from detecting in the 70's lol
Maybe that's the blessing of having kids in your head.. I still get excited finding pull tabs lol
