View attachment 1692736 folks this is one of the best working, smoothest operating, solidly built pieces of machinery I've ever owned. A 1941, power king, electric jointer. It was dropped off to our shop for free. The person didn't even know if it worked. We cleaned, oiled, and rewired the motor. Then put a new belt on it and finally we sent the knives out and had them professionally ground and honed. We brought them to a local here in the keys, and hes quite the guy. His name is Bosworth and hes a well known knife maker world wide. He got them clean straight and sharp, and this machine is incredible. 20190225_181140.jpg

I'm proud to have this 75+ year old machine doing work for us, and it will allow me to produce some awsome book end matched glue ups. When you push to pieces of wood together the seam is nearly invisible. And yes I chipped the edge not the machine. No tear or with this set up.

Boaut time you got up Bart... sheesh.

What did you hit the Rum factory last night ?

:P

Rainy day here I've been napping and lurking. Wife and kid went to Disney this morn for spring break, so its quiet here for once. Aaaaaahhhhh !! Maybe a mid morn coffee is in order.

Heres one of my friend dean Bosworth best sellers. Hey heh.....bet you guys didn't know I also build knives.Screenshot_20190319-112120_Google.jpg

20190319_112602.jpg this is the prototype of my new "all American fighter". This military contractor sent me these camilus airforce survival knife blanks to build a limited series of knives from. If he likes this then I will build 25 more just like it with Morgan silver dollar guards and solid silver pommels. The wood was turned so that it shows different styles that can be done, and this prototype will only have a brass butt cap. Hope they like it because it's coming together quick. If not I have 4 more blanks to fit out in other styles for them to pick from. Still have to get some proper tooling to produce 25 in a row, I want this build to go quick, so i need to build 5 a day when i get going. 20190319_112945.jpg

I dont forge only file grind and assemble. These blanks were sent to my friend for phosphate coating per military spec. When he was done they let him know that the blanks were his to keep since camilus was going out of business. He has 4000 of these military blanks all blacked out with phosphate coating !! All original and built for the military.

RTR... your pulling that off Smith Mountain ?
