There's the farm boy! I would like to see it cleaned up, too. But, as MR WD would attest to, cleaning is not my forte. LOL! I have so many rusty finds laying around it is ridiculous! It's part of my plan though. I am hoping that he will eventually get sick enough of it that he gets me a "She shed."

I had big plans last year of trying electrolysis. I have everything I need to set up. I am just afraid to put it all together. My friend has expressed his utmost concern over the safety of that process. He suggests muriatic acid. Might give that a try.

WD, try soaking the chain in straight vinegar for a couple of days. You can wire-brush most of the rust right off, and anything really thick might need a slight tap with a hammer. DO NOT leave it in for more than several days without checking on it. We did that. Found out just how well vinegar "can" work!

Btw, don't matter whether white or cider, but white is cheaper.
